COMMUNITY ORV WATCH (COW) MEETING
Tuesday, December 19th - 6:30pm at the Yucca Mesa Improvement Association

The building is located 1/2 mile north of Aberdeen at 3133 Balsa Ave. The intersection of Balsa and Aberdeen has a street light as well as a YMIA sign. Balsa is 1/2 mile West of Avalon and about 3 miles East of Hwy 247.

Meet with the BLM Ranger Responsible for Our Area
and Plan for the Holiday Onslaught of ORVs

Last Thanksgiving, literally hundreds of ORVs invaded our communities and trespassed on both private and public lands. The trespass on Bureau of Land Management lands off-limits to ORVs was widespread and especially problematic in the Pipes Canyon, Landers, Flamingo Heights and Wonder Valley areas.

We have invited a representative from the Bureau of Land Management to come to discuss the growing problem of trespass on public lands. We will identify problem areas and coordinate with law enforcement on how we can curb ORV abuse this coming holiday season.

COW has new surveillance equipment including digital cameras, a spotting scope with digital camera and a decibel meter for use by our members to document problem ORVs. We will also discuss the aftermath of the Thanksgiving holiday and how the new ORV ordinance worked.

Help us plan to protect our private and public lands from ORV abuse.

Meet with the Head Barstow BLM Ranger Briot

and Plan for the Holiday Onslaught of ORVs

Last Thanksgiving, literally hundreds of ORVs invaded our communities and trespassed on both private and public lands. The trespass on Bureau of Land Management lands off-limits to ORVs was widespread and especially problematic in the Pipes Canyon, Landers, Flamingo Heights and Wonder Valley areas. Area residents are calling on law enforcement for relief and for the enforcement of laws protecting public lands from damage.

We have invited a representative from the Bureau of Land Management to come to discuss the growing epidemic of ORVs. We will identify problem areas and coordinate with local, county and federal law enforcement on how we can deal with the expected onslaught of ORVs this coming holiday season. Also present will be Hugh Oram from County Code Enforcement and Sgt. Collins from the San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department.

COW has new surveillance equipment including digital cameras, a ground telescope with digital camera and a decibel meter for use by our members to document problem ORVs. We will also discuss the aftermath of the Thanksgiving holiday and how the new ORV ordinance worked.
