Here is the updated flyer with the rules and entry fees. This is going to be a great race and I hope you guys make it out there! This race has a great payback and there will be tv coverage that will be aired in southern California. After the race they will have a great bar-b-que and the famous new year's bon fire! The next day is the dash race and there should be a great turn out. 5 or more trophy trucks and a great 1600 race with a big side pot, so there will be some great racing!

Hey Glen I won't be racing. I am doing the motor swap right now. I will still be there but won't be in the rhino race.

Jest of the Meeting:
Race courses will no longer be approved unless there is documentation to prove that a geologist has walked the path making sure it has been DOCUMENTED that there are no ancient ruins, ancients corpse, archeological remains, etc. Plaster City is probably going to become a lot like Barstow. There will be 2-3 acceptable courses that have been walked by a biologist and approved by the BLM.

Now, here is the problem, right now, Plaster City and Superstition currently DO NOT have any approved courses with a signing off from a biologist and the BLM. The BLM is going to let the MDR Dash slide on this rule, however, next years course will not slide. The problem arises when we have to face the fact that it could take months to get any approved courses out there. Also, the promoters are going to be stuck with paying for this biologist.

We have two options here:
(1) Let the BLM (at their own pace) began to approve courses. If this happens its time for all promoters that promote races in the Superstition area to join together and raise the funds needed to send out a biologist to approve courses be run.

(2) We can let interest groups that represent us as racers and business owners fight to have this new idea shot down. This can be done through support of both interest groups and people personally calling there senator and congressman. If we are going to do this, people need to get organized and sound educated.

Before we have a big explosion on this, please, let’s do our best to become organized and support the special interest groups that support us (ORBA/CORVA)

I want to let everybody know that we are doing our best to make this race happen. Tomorrow myself and Caleb Gaddis will be taking Dallas from the BLM around the proposed course. Hopefully everything will be ok. We are going to do our best to mark the best course possible. With the new regulations, we are probably going to see the track mileage shrink down. We are most likely going to have 35 miles loop at this race.

It would be great if people would come out and support this event. It would also be great if we didn’t have to hear racers complain about how the course wasn’t marked early, the course is too short, the course is too fast, the course is too rough or anything else. I want to assure everybody here that we have been putting a lot of effort into this event.

It would make a great statement with the BLM if we could get a huge crowd for this race. We need to show them that people come to this desert just for this race. We also need to show them how much this race helps the community. If you’re out at the race, please do your best to spend some money in the Imperial Valley.
