I just got my guages and I'm trying to figure out where the water temp sending unit should go. Should I be putting a T where the stock sending unit is? By the way it is an Auto Meter guage and 1/8 NPT sending unit

Look under the drivers seat, you will see where the coolant hose goes into the motor. Now fallow it down and you will see a striate section about 5" long, cut the rubber hose in half there and install your T fitting there and wire it up...
I'm assuming you have this setup from BRP. that comes with a inline T and sencer.

Also at the top where the hose meets the motor you will fine a small screw, unscrew it and add coolant there to replace the coolant you will lose when cutting the hose. The screw hole is there to get rid of any trapped air in the cooling system that could make the motor over heat...

water temp by BRPNo I didn't get it from BRP. I figured I'd save the $70 and get it somewhere else. Do you have a pic of the inline T fitting? I'm sure I can make.

I got mine from SDHQ and they sent me an inline adaptor to put the temp sensor into. Also I would mount this in the hose that goes from the motor to the radiator so you get a more accurate engine temp, not a after the radiator returning to the engine. Here is a pic....

Now this is a good idea.

I originally was gonna T off of the stock sender but I didn't like the way it was working. I just got a Pipe T and threaded in 2 barbed fittings in the inds and the sensor in the top. Nothing fancy but it works great.

I cut the hose exiting the motor to the radiator and put my T in there. Ran it around last night and it seems to work perfectly. Fan comes on right at 170 degrees. Is that where it is supposed to?
