I prefer to camp at Buttercup near the old plank road since it's not as crowded. Plus that makes Gordons a very short ride away so we get the best of both worlds.

I like Gordon's better. More riding area. I hate having to drive very long to get to the big stuff so we camp pretty close to the Sand Highway and a little bit north of the pack.

Gordons' for duning all day! Camping at the old palnk road area is the best less people less dust! Buttercup hill at night is cool also on the big weekends more room

I have pissed on Buttercup many times :dis:
I like camping at Buttercup, it is way better than camping at the dust flats at Gordon's.

Depends on my schedule. If I'm just going out for a day trip it's Buttercup hands down. Easier to park, closer to the dunes and 10 minutes less driving on the Highway.
But if I'm going to stay the night I'll usually make the extra 10 minutes drive out to Gordons so I can hit the bigger dunes and have some real fun.
There's a lot of good stuff at Buttercup if you know where to find it....for such a small place there are a lot of hidden surprises both good and bad
Overall I'd say the riding/driving at Buttercup is more "technical" you're making lots of tight turns and only occasionally get out of second gear in my buggy. Gordon's is more like Glamis with bigger bowls and flowing smooth lines.
If you like razorbacks and tight dunes Buttercup is sweet. And there are a couple of places where you can find a nice fast line that carries though a couple sets of dunes - just south of the small closure there are some sweet bowls that link together really nicely. And south and east from the valley there are some good spots but it's usually REALLY soft since not many people go out that way - but that also means virgin sand
Gordons I can get into a groove and start from just east of the drags then keep going until....whoops! We ran out of dunes and hit the flats on the other side

That won't happen at Buttercup - you'll find a nasty witches eye or razorback for sure and will break your groove before you run out of dunes.
The end of a ride at Buttercup I'm normally pumped from stressing over all the close calls and tight turns. The end of a ride at Gordons I'm pumped from not getting out of the gas pedal for 20 minutes and worrying about my tank running dry. They've both good just different kinds of good

Gordons - Nice big Dunes from the 8 to the 78. Drags, Test Hill, Patton Valley. Cochella Canal, no bodies or rebar. Pair-a-Dice bar/restaurant/store/air. Endless amount of camping area.
Buttercup - Small area bordered by lovely Mexico and their LAW. No drags, one hill. All American Canal with rocks, rebar and dead bodies. No store, no bar, no services of any kind. Camping is like an apartment complex.
Tough choice!

C'mon bansh88. Whats the real reason? Is Buttercup too technical for you?
I got it!! All of the single guys you hit on are all over at Gordons. It's all coming together now.

Don't get so angry just because you and Bruce are tired of each others flutes! You still have each others poop shoots to play with!

If bansh88 likes gordon's better....that means I have more of a chance of runnin into his ass, but not that way.....straight as an arrow homeboy!!! And yes, dune buggy flats gets pretty dusty on big weekends when you camp right in the thick of it, as I usually do, but this last season, camped north bout 1 1/2 mile....just about even with the 3rd set, so much better for dust, but can't see how the drags are growing. I couldn't see them and out of sight, out of mind and didn't end up going much :.(. :.(.

i think it depends on what you ride.i would say its better for buggies at gordons.bigger areas to open them up.less tight stuff to get hung up on also.

Yup. Your def right. I won that contest at that one joint across the border. Hey Bansh did I ever tell you what the contest even was about? See imagine this for a sec. Your mother is dancing around up on stage. She lies on her back on stage and rolls around with her legs up in the air spread apart...wide apart....now here comes the contest part...all the guys line up and see who can cover your mom with the most cum. The one that nails her in the eye wins:) Oh course I nailed her first. Btw how is that old bag?

Ridiculous!
YOU know for a fact that my mother isn't allowed in Mexico. She has not been allowed in since 1977 when she got busted for trying to smuggle your mother across the border.
