how is the buggy coming along?

Slowly sad.gif Very slowly sad.gif

Too damn hot to work in the garage and no money for parts - heck I'm still waiting on the title for the Manx  (If you read this forum any word on that John?)

So both projects are on semi-hold.

I did get a new side gear for the rail tranny yesterday (Swapped some extra long VW lug bolts for it) so I can have it back on all four wheels and rolling by the end of the weekend. Will probably even take it over to Jim and get the motor mounts zapped back on.

The motor is back together with all covers and fittings sealed. Timing belt is on and everything is lined up. The carb is even back on and plummed.

But the coil is in my truck right now (Trucks coil died and I have no $$$$ to replace it right now.) and I have no $$$$ for spark plugs and a new oil pressure sending unit sad.gif

Got a few jobs finishing up this month so I should have cash flow soon - but I'm also loosing my roommate so rent is going to double starting in August sad.gif

If nothing else I'll at least get the rear suspension back together this weekend and blow the cobwebs off. But I'm still in a holding pattern waiting on some clients to get their act together before I can hear the sweet sound of that motor again.

At least the Manx is running even if I can't drive it without risk of Johnny law slapping me around for no tags sad.gif

has the manx seen the dunes yet?

Twice, took it out for a few hours at night to meet up with Big Daddy and the rest of his crew. Then took it out the next saturday afternoon to give my GF and her mom a quick ride.

Since it's summer and Buttercup I was more worried about getting caught with no tags trailiering through Yuma than at the dunes wink.gif

I was happily surprised to find that the Manx rides MUCH smoother than my rail does - but with just the 1776, stock tranny and street tires I didn't get to make it very far into the dunes. No one there to tow me if I got stuck so I stayed pretty close to my truck and mainly stuck to the hardpack.

The night ride I thought my oil temp guage wasn't responding. But it turned out the motor was just not getting a chance to warm up. On the day ride in 100 degree heat the temp never went over 180 even after a couple of fast 3rd gear laps around the valley at Buttercup.

Just wish Nevada would hurry up and get the new title sent out so I can start driving this thing legally sad.gif

I bought it to replace the bike as a second street legal vehicle but so far I haven't been able to even test it on the road since Nevada is taking forever to get John a new title so he can officially transfer ownership to me.
