I was looking at one of your 2 seaters and noticed the car hits the ground before the shocks reach full bump. I don't get it???? bugsy2.gif
mosebilt
dont know where you saw that-but it could have had the wrong size tire on it? bugsy2.gif
pennywise
maybe but the tire would have to be at least 12" smaller to make up 6" of ground clearance. What size dirt tire do you run on the 2 seater? 39's?
mosebilt
38" paddles,37" projects in the dirt-usually get about 2" clearance at full bump
pennywise
That's probably the problem then. It would hit the ground with 33's. Is this chassis typically for sand? In the dirt 2" at full bump is awfully close to the ground. A small rock and you'd be in it.

Nice car- Jess

its the same chassis for both-if it was going to be taken in the dirt a lot we would make the floor, midrail, roof etc. out of .095 wall( or .120 if desired) for the the added "punishment" the car always receives in the desert.we keep 2/3" ground clearance at full bump (that would be with all 4 wheels bottomed at the same time-which doesnt happen very often, unless you are strickly a "jump master") so that the car sits lower to the ground-i.e. lower center of gravity, better handling, etc. i can count on one hand the number of times i actuaully felt our blue demo car hit the ground-yet like a typical desert car, there is no paint left on the bottom of the chassis.if the car you are ferering to is the red mid-engine car at kartek,we just put some dirt tires on it that were laying around the shop, and are not the "proper" size tire. bbq2.gif
