Do you deny that OHV use impacts the land where they are ridden?

Big Had, I've known some pretty savvy environmentalists.

The people that are trying to remove us from Glamis are not interested in the environment. Including our resident Internet Troll (who is only interested in muckraking and is a whole different class of fool), probably 90% of the opposition that takes time to read these forums are non-environmentalists; they are stricly non-access. They don't enjoy or care for life with nature or nature itself and so they think nothing of keeping others from enjoying life beyond a museum or a computer.

Some may eventually be reasoned with.

The resident Troll, however, is not capable.

No one is going to believe you when you over-simplify the opposition's points.

OHV use on natural lands is unsustainable at the current rate of usage. Just because enviros notice this and petition our agencies for OHV reform doesn't mean we want you riders to never go out of your house.

Did you ever try walking? horseback? mules? camels? there's lots of ways to get into the back country. What OHV users like is their machines, not nature. OHV use is going to find itself with a smaller and more controlled area as our populations increases. Kind of like surfing. With only a limited amount of coastline, surfing is saturated. Wherever there is a good break, there are hundreds of surfers there and it's dangerous and not fun. So ocean lovers pick other ways to enjoy the beach.

Will OHV riders go to Glamis without their toys just to appreciate the silence and beauty of Mother G? :?:

An Internet "troll" is a person who delights in sowing discord on the Internet. He (and it is usually he) tries to start arguments and upset people.

Trolls see Internet communications services as convenient venues for their bizarre game. For some reason, they don't "get" that they are hurting real people. To them, other Internet users are not quite human but are a kind of digital abstraction. As a result, they feel no sorrow whatsoever for the pain they inflict. Indeed, the greater the suffering they cause, the greater their 'achievement' (as they see it). At the moment, the relative anonymity of the net allows trolls to flourish.

Trolls are utterly impervious to criticism (constructive or otherwise). You cannot negotiate with them; you cannot cause them to feel shame or compassion; you cannot reason with them. They cannot be made to feel remorse. For some reason, trolls do not feel they are bound by the rules of courtesy or social responsibility.

Perhaps this sounds inconceivable. You may think, "Surely there is something I can write that will change them." But a true troll can not be changed by mere words.

The best response is no response. Please don't feed the troll.
