What happened to that plant? Used to be about a plant. Used to all be revolving around a plant.
When it was the Plant we were all together with one goal.
When that plant got us shut down, we joined forces.
That plant costed us tax payers millions of dollars on studies, lawers, and court fees.
That plant was used as a tool to make us fit in to a social status.
We were called wild, out casts, destructive, and Earth hurting.
We fought and cleaned up our reputation but that plant keeps our lands distant.
Soon after the plant emerges STRONG and GROWING.
We gor anxious to join our lands once again.
Suddenly the talk about the plant no longer exists.
Only talk now is about money and the business.
We grow apart like our lands.
It all started with a little plant..

What happened to us is the same as what happened to groups like the Sierra Club and others. When you're fighting for your life, everyone's on the same page. But after a victory here and there, or when the immediate crisis is over, the radicals get weirder and weirder.

This (the infighting) is probably exactly the kind of thing that makes Bluesky soil his keyboard.

P.S. It was never really about the plant.

as much as it hurts to say it.. this is probably more true than anyone wants to admit.

It's true, it was never about the plant.

The plant was a tool. And there are more coming. Three that are already known, bearing down fast.

But you didn't hear that from me.

My head already hurts... I don't want to start talking about the conservation issues heading our way and be accused of supporting the CBD! laugh.gif

I think Slappy had some of those blue pills... maybe that will cure this pounding in my brain! :burn:

Geez, I hope this isn't true.

When it is a conservation issue, especially with a lawsuit brought by an organization that has no heart for the land, we can easily agree that it should be fought and fought hard and so we are united.

But bring up an issue like alcohol outside camp or trash bins or even what kind of vehicles should be allowed or banned in the sand and yes, we do become divided.

And even though it would seem we all feel the same about land closures, there were and still are those people who support closing comp hill at night.

Don't even get me started on rock-n-roll versus country-n-western :bounce:

It's what makes the world go round (differences, I mean... not country music  ) and unfortunately it makes for difficult moments.

You mentioned country more than rock and roll. You must be against rock now too.
