Just checked and 400ex is winning... can you belive that!! That bike is out dated, and even when it came out, I had a friend who bought one, checked it out, and nice riding bike, but way too under powered. These knuckleheads are choosing it over some other kick ass bikes!

YZF450 is my choice

Well, it's completely unscientific poll, so you can't really draw any firm conclusions about how the majority of riders, or people who would buy a new quad, feel about the ones listed. Also, my bet is "most" of those who read this forum, are what you might consider "enthusiasts". In other words, take the sport seriously, and demand the most performance from their choice.

On the other hand, its' possible "most" purchasers of new quads are looking at other things. Price, reliability, reputation, different riding conditions, multiple skill level riders who will use the bike,etc. They may not be completely educated on all of the options available to them. And if you realize that the "majority" of quad buyers may be in this boat, you can start to see how the "best" quad for you, may not be perceived as the "best" for the larger population. Of course that's a good thing, cause that leaves more of the "good" ones for those who are in the know..

Oh, If I had to buy a new quad "today", I'd buy a Z400. Why? Well, in my case, I have several different skill level riders who would use it, it has reverse which the wife demands, it's got a decent reliability record, it does have aftermarket support, and most importantly is I believe it's the best "bang for the buck" out there right now. Now, if it were ONLY for me (fat chance!), and money were no object (fatter chance!), I'd get the YFZ450...Can you see how some folks would choose a "lesser" quad?

I'm going to need at least a year for the YZF 450 to prove itself and for the dealers to start competing more over the price. Right now Alba is getting 8 grand OTD for it. :shock:

Right now has to be the tuffest time to buy a new quad . There are so many each /w/ there own strong points and weak points . Yami's 450 is unproven ,remember the Raptors first year . the Pred seems like a good bike but only one year of production so far makes you wonder whats it going to be like to get parts in 5 years ? The Zuki & Kawi are both starting to prove themselves as contenders . The ds is just to big for my tastes. and then there's Honda who keep most peeps hopes alive that they will come out /w/ the 4-trax replacement .

I bought the Z400 and made it into the bike i want. But if honda does release a CRF in a 250r style chasis I will have one, no doubt about it

I'm on the same plan as you Banshee 350.

i bought a pred and smoked every banshee and honda i raced . can't wait to get some performance mods so i can visit the sound barrier.this quad flies

I love my shee but the next quad I buy will be the Predator.

C'mon man! You either weigh 75 pounds or the banshee riders were laughing to hard to push the throttle all the way. The pred is a nice bike but a banshee killer it aint.

I didn't kill any banshees . I just buried them . They dropped dead by themselves.

I've raced Predators. Not even close. My bike ain't even trick. Pipes and K&N. smoked the Predaterd. I'll keep my Banshee.
