I am looking for a digital camera that is reasonably priced but will take faster pics. The one I have is so slow that it is hard to get action shots or pics at the drags.

i've been using my cheapo Olympus Stylus. it is weather 'resistant', and doesn't mind a little drop of water (and it keeps the sand out well)

The Pentax Optio W10 is great, water proof, dust proof, takes fast pics, 6 MP and it's pretty cheap, about $250 or less.

You can usually adjust the speed on the camera, I just bought a Sony DSC-W70 Cybershot. $199

hit up Reeferman on the board, he always has nice pics and I think he said he got it from costco so when the sand ruins it you get a new one.

What Steve said. KG seems to get nice pics with his, not sure on the shutter lag.

I've always been very happy with Canon, shutter lag has been minimal for years and you can get the underwater case for many models to keep ALL the sand out.

We bought a Olympus Stylus 740 (all-weather) for Christmas and after the first trip to Glamis (New Years weekend) the lens cover stuck open from sand. It's going back, so I would advise you NOT to get one. I saw someone else recomended theirs.

Shiat!! Check out that tire!!

Hey, my girlfriend has the Nikon S6 and loves it. She got it last year when it was newer to the market, I guess, and it was $350. You can get the S9 now for $250 and it has a few upgrades. It is a nice internal zoom camera, and with that option, the Feild Jacket is a sweet thing as well. Water proof and dust proof. The case is $120 I guess, but I got it on Amazone for 40 bucks. I recomend that.

Canon Digital Rebel at Costo. end of story.

If it breaks for what ever reason, take it back for FULL refund and buy another. You just can't beat that.
