I have a Black Rhino CDI in my Rhino and it is having terrible cold starting issues. Called Black Rhino and they admit there is a problem with no resolve other then try another one of there's but no gaurantee it will fix the problem....
Anyone have intel on other CDI manufacturer's? I have heard that they are all made from the same vendor.... I have called a few like Dynatek, AMR and Hunterworks and they claim they do their own and have no problems.
Anyone have some info on this? Whom makes the best CDI and makes the most HP?

Yes BRP CDI has cold start problems. However you can minimize this (IMHO) as follows:
- It is not due to fuel draining out between rides or trailering so dont bother with a fuel pump etc. You can detect this for yourself by dropping the float bowl, youll see there's gas in there.
- Make first start of day on stock CDI (takes 4 min to swap) OR
- Get a Dynatek CDI
OR
do the following with BRP CDI
- Charge the battery (keep it on a Battery Tender)
- To start follow exactly
1. Choke halfway out to full out depending on temp
2. Turn key on. but dont crank, wait for 5 seconds (dash display settles down)
3. Crank 3 seconds wait 5 seconds
Repeat, it will fire just after you release they key on about the 4th go-round
Long cranking makes it worse, its a voltage thing
Tyrap says starting fluid will help. Havent tried, too hard to spray in there. Someone else said WD-40 ditto,
since WD-40 is diesel fuel that may be true.

Dynatek is hands down the most problem free, except for finding one.

Another vote for Dynatek here.

My brother's DFR unit (Procomm) did the same thing. It progressively got worse too. At first it was just hesitant to start. Then became like a 10 try wonder.
