I have a 8.5' x 24' flatbed trailer with drive over wheel wells, I winch my rail on backwards for towing, only problem is when I try to drive off the trailer, the paddles slip on the diamond plate wheel wells, I have to stack wood in front of the wheel wells to get my car off the trailer. Any sugestions, thanks

what about welding some 1X1 square stock or angle iron on the fenders for the paddles to grab on something?

Line-X sprayed over the factory paint on my truck bed. I don't see why they couldn't on your fenders.

rhino linings in santa ana rhino lined a dodge minivan. the whole outside, you could probably rhino line the wood as well. be no problem to spray the wheel wells.

Get a fabricator to widen the wheel wells, and weld some weights to the underneigth of the front so u dont have o back on. 300lbs or so should do it!

Would a set of thinner road tires/wheels fit between the wheel wells? The only problem is that you will have to change tires to the paddles and back.

a little momentum before you go over the fenders might help

What about some strips of grip tape (stuff from skateboards)? Cheap and non-permanent.

i wouls take a couple of pieces of angle iron and weld it on upside down like this /\__/\__
on top of the wheel well... a few inches apart. i could do it for you in the northern san diego area.

Put a winch on the trailer and yank it up!! Slow and easy, much safer, and you won't kill your clutch! 9,000 lbs. winch only like $300 @ harbor freight. thats what i would do

Get about 3 friends to flip the car off sideways, just make sure your flag is doen or when it rolls over it might break off. That should do it, dont waste your money on that other stuff.

Not to hijack this thread, but I have been looking to buy this exact trailer. How do you like it?? I was planning to have the whole top lineXed. I would guess that the lineX would cost less than $500.
If you don't mind me asking, what is a trailer worth? The guys that I have been talking with want around $3200 for an 18 footer.
thanks.

go buy some dupli color bed liner and roll or spray it on. Save the money and time by doing it that way.

You could build a ramp the width of the paddles level with the wheel wells so the car would sit level with the top of the wells, this would give you more under the buggy storage.

Mount a eyelet to the rear of the trailer, then use a pulley and winch the buggy off the trailer as well?
You would probably have to attach to your torsion or rear trailing arm pivot tube?
Maybe have the wheel housings widened to give you more surface area for your tires to grip?

I have looked in theat section, but this is a nicer trailer than most that I have seen in that section. For a grand or so, I think I would like to have what I want and not someone elses junk. This trailer is 102 wide with drive over fenders and the ability to haul a rail, Rhino, car or a Jeep. Can't beat that!!

Whe whole problem with this trailer is the wheel wells are to narrow. Just have a fab guy add some more width to the driveover ramps and you'll be fine. I have this same exact trailer, and with paddles on its a bitch to get it on the trailer. Its much easier though if you put some skinnies on the rear. With those on, your car will fit in between the wheel wells and you wont have to worry about getting over them.

3500 rpm's and pop the clutch

I like adding the eyelet at the end and running the winch cable forward then to the car.

Weld a v- groove pulley on the lower front of the trailer. Then weld a v -groove pulley on the lower rear of the trailer. Then run your winch cable in the front pulley under the front of the trailer all the way to the rear, in the rear v-groove pulley , hook to front of car and pull it off.

Or at least build some ramps, kinda like a ladder, to decrease the angle of your wheel wells.
