Hey guys...I was going to do cam mod this weekend....and found the instructions on yfzcentral....and they seem staight foward...the only thing that they did not say how to do is...once you reinstall the cam chain tensioner, is how do you release it??? Any info would be great.....and if you have any other tricks that might help I would appreciate hearing them.

You need to get a small screw driver, the one you use to wind it up after you pull it out. Leave the small bolt on the back of it off and install the tensioner. Then slip the screw driver in and give it a little twist, Walla it springs back into place.
If you have any questions reguarding your YFZ or need help during the install, give me a ring. I would be more than happy to help you out.

Man, I sure would like to have the cam mod done but don't know a good shop around SD. Plus its a hassle because I keep it in the dez. More power would be fun though.

It's very easy to do. Ask the guy up top to post the directions he found. You could knock it out in the trailer in about 30 minutes....or in camp if it wasnt windy.

have a torque wrench that can do 7.5 ft lbs on the cam towers. dont over torque, put fresh oil on the cam lobes before retorqueing.

Tony, don't be skeered

LOL. Hey, I tore in my crf450 motor only 3 weeks after I had it. That was a little intimidating. All 4 strokes are basically the same. Get a manual and take your time.
