What would ya get and why?

I was driving the wife’s Denali home from
Vegas and called my guy to inquire about a new one with super cruise.. she says “I always get a new car, why don’t we get you a truck?”

I have a 16 F350 platinum that I have had forever.. honestly I love my truck and I’m not sure what a new one is gonna do for me that mine doesn’t do?? Maybe better AC and seat massagers or something.. lol

Anyhow my last three trucks have been this one a f150 before this and then a Chevy 1500 Silverado..

I have been out of the new truck game for so long I wouldn’t even know where to start?

I know dodge was doing those crazy cool interiors years back (not sure if they still are?).

I have always loved the huge back seats in the fords.. father in law has a Denali and it drives bitchin but seems kinda blah inside?

Betsy currently has 104k on the clock, and is pretty taken care of, so I’m not even sure if I want too.. but ya never know?

104K on the clock, why would you want to trade it for a new one that might end up with a bunch of issues. 104 on a truck these days is just getting broken in.

If you have to spend the money, I would go FORD again that new high output 6.7 is a beast.

Well that’s kinda what I thought but it is a ten year old truck at this point.. weirdly though I get people complimenting my old truck all the time??

So is there something mind blowing cool on a new one that ya just can’t live without? I got ball chillers.. do they got ball massagers now or the self driving deal? I found out they don’t have super cruise on duallies yet but may in 2026

I just went through this late last year and ended up with a 2024 GMC Denali Ultimate DRW.....I really liked the Ford but at the time pricing and financing were the deciding factor for me, I don't think you can lose on any of them nowadays, they all have great power and crazy technology.....I did like the look and layout better on the GMC versus the others and the deal was way better on the GMC so I pulled the trigger....no regrets!

In 2018 I ordered a new Duramax...had nothing but problems!
5 years later and a lemon law, got all my money back and ordered a new 2024 GMC AT4 6.6 gas. I love it!
But I don't tow anything heavy.
So, if yours is working great, keep it. You still 300-400K miles yet to go on that thing!

I am a die hard GM/Chevy guy and if I was towing 15K-20K I'd look at the 3500 Dually.
However,...the Ford F450 is a Bad MoFo!

So basically...I don't have any good info for you!

Here is what you do know...

All these new trucks have issues, and a Ton of stuff to go wrong!

Do they have more power than yours? Hell yes.

Do they have more problems than yours? Hell yes.

I'm with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" crowd.

Side note...

I just put a new Kenwood head unit in my dinosaur POS. It has Android Auto built in, and I can cast my phone screen to it, to watch movies if I want.

Bill's guy at Al & Ed's was trying to show me how it worked, but he couldn't figure it out. He normally installs Alpine and has iPhone, so he wasn't familiar with Android Auto/Kenwood at all.

When I got it all synced, he says ...

Wow, that's cool. iPhone doesn't have anything that fancy! 🤣

Just get some different wheels that don't make you look like a Detroit baller and it'll look like a whole different truck.
Then find out when the next space launch is and show up asking if they got room for those things in one of them outer space dumpsters. Once they see em they'll understand.
 
I have no use for a dually and I own a rather new 100k truck. But the new for duallys have even catching my eye lately. Been mentioning it to the wife enough to get yelled at about already having a new truck. Maybe she would like a dually for herself… I like the Denali but I’m sure I would ultimately end up with a ford.
 
The new ones are all good and have a ton of power. Just hit up the dealers and drive them all and get the one you like best. I would say RAM will probably be the best deal as those dealers seem to be discounting the price more that Ford and Chevy. The Ford and Ram have the nicer interior.

Ford it the best looking of the bunch.
 
FORD! But I would wait until the new emissions kick in. They might not have DEF and all the other BS. Good luck.
 
I’m more of a gm guy but love my 2020 ford dually for a few reasons. Diesel 10 speed, plenty of power and brakes. Sold 5th wheel so I only drive it about 1200 miles a year now. Almost the best truck I’ve ever owned.
