EPO7 "The First Grand National Championship (GNC)" 4-7-2006
The hype had run its course, and the battle field was set. The 1st Glamis National Championship was about to run. It was a full field; 48 of the best Glamsdunes.com racers. This event would be hosted by the beautiful Sidewinder Rattlesnake. The day was perfect with 70 degree temperatures and a slight breeze; perfect racing weather.
The quad riders didn’t fare as well as expected, with Bugsy finishing first quad in 27th place. The buggies dominated the field; however two out of the top three were CRF450 motorcycles. There were incredible feats of driving and riding, with Andy Harrington and Jon Jon Belisle putting on an aerial display on the back section of the track during practice. A few members ate sand, one champion didn’t make the race, some missed cones, and one dragged his handlebars to victory. Here’s how they finished.
