https://weddleindustries.com/gear-calculator https://weddleindustries.com/sites/weddleindustries.com/files/downloads/Current Gear Availability 4-1-21.pdf There are a few ways to sort out what gear ratio will work for your specific application. Most trans builders tend to work with a "common" set of ratio's that they know most people are happy with when using common engines and power numbers, but you the individual can make some determinations on what might work for you car the way that you drive it and where it is mostly used. Most typical sand cars will never see more than 100 MPH. If you want the most performance from your engine, you can start by figurin…

My car has a massive radiator. Most times even on a warm day and a hard run I only get one fan to run. Going to put a blower on my car and was trying to decide on intercooler location and function. I have plenty of room to put one infront of my radiator and just use the cooling stack. Or should I remote mount a smaller intercooler with its own shroud and fan setup. Anyone done both and have some input? I dont use a windshield so I get lots of air moving through the car.

We got tires of purchasing expensive billet pulleys and having the bearing fail and destroying a dune trip, I really like the factory GM pulleys, they just work well, so this is our way of making a reliable pulley and making them look well also,

Got everything visually disconnected from motor. Pulled the 4 bolts from plate/091 to motor and am able to pull the motor clear from plate about 1" and thats it! I have a jack under the oil pan and my 2 sons and I are trying to wiggle it off and no luck. I tried pulling clutch in but that just holds the motor even tighter. What am I missing gents?

Hey All, I might be picking up a sand car with a 2.5 subi. I’ve never owned a Subaru motor. Do you All have a ride bits of info you could share with me on these things? I’ve always been a fan of sound and performance(from what I see and hear). I just want to make sure if I get it, I maintain and treat it right. e.g. I read somewhere on here that you should always tow I’m neutral cause if you leave it in gear it can go out of time making it a bear to start or ru right. i see most run race fuel with these things. any of your knowledge is appreciated. thank you!!

Yes in know its relatively easy but the last time I tried I put the piston in upside down. So i just decided to let the people who do it all the time do it. Thanks in advance for suggestions Jeff

I installed the Jamar pro x micro stub kit on my car 3 years ago. So after three seasons with the car jacked up there is a tiny bit of play on one side. At what point do you look at pulling them apart and replacing? Or how much play until they completely fail?

I think it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to all the members running Honda engines. One place to discuss all things Honda. I will kick it off with my current build. Brand new short block and brand new heads. Installed the heads yesterday and now am working on the timing components but having an issue with the timing belt cogs matching up to the drivers side cam gear. any tips on how to align them? They are all at TDC.

I have thought about this for years, I see guys pumping 3,4,500 hundred H/P into these CVT side x side transmissions and they seem to hang in there for the most part, Sure you have to change a belt maybe a couple times a year and a clutch every so often. Why has anyone not converted one of these, inplace of a 091 VW box that cost a lot of money any only last about 3 years. Perhaps someone has, but I haven't seen one. I believe it could save us some money . I know there would be a lot of fab work involved but it might be worth it.

Does anyone run one? I have a Weldon pump on my car now and it’s extremely loud. The pump is on the higher side of volume and I know it’s overkill for my setup even with the turbo. The last Weldon I had lasted 20 years without a controller and was only replaced because I sucked at diagnosing a fuel issue. Does anyone run one and if so why?

Everyone has been awesome with helping me educate myself to the sand car world. I've been stalking the usual for sale platforms, but thus far nothing has tickled my fancy, or is way out of the amount I'm willing to spend. In any event, questions continue to swirl in my head as I continue to look for a car. I tried searching this windshield subject, but not much info on the site regarding windshields. What is the consensus? I figure it will be hotter inside with one, but also quieter, maybe? On cold mornings/evenings it's probably nice to have too. But then I think, how the hell can you stand looking out a constantly dirty/dusty windshield. I have also read that it…

Does anyone use this hub? The male spline is 1.3" in diameter. It has a spline count of 30. (I may have asked this question before) I bought it at a sprint car shop, but haven't been able to find a replacement. I have replaced the pins, but it still gets stuck. I have done the usual searches and phone calls. Any ideas who to call?

Having a sand rail has been kind of a bucket list item for me for 20+ years. Just picked this rail up yesterday. runs great, 1600cc dual port. Wiring needs to be cleaned up but it works as is. I think I got a good deal at $3k with a clean title and fairly new tires on powder coated rims. What I don't know is who manufactured the frame. Would like to find out so I have a base to start looking for upgrades etc. Would also like to find out what brand/model the snap on panels are if possible. I can post more detailed pics if necessary to help identify Also happy to hear what upgrades might be suggested. I plan on running this mostly on the road around town wi…

Nitro has really become an issue with supply this year, let alone the price. Need a drum now and another at end of year. Might hurt a bit more than usual. We haven’t run the nitro car since last year, time to clean it up and go racing

The official thread for all transaxle related FAQ's and basic information. There is lots of mis-information floating around on the internet, hopefully this one thread will be able to inform all readers and give the correct information. I'll start it off with some basic info on each Weddle Industries produced transaxle. A phone call or e-mail will always be the best way to get the proper and accurate information you need for your specific application. This thread is not limited to Weddle units only, but I will not be able to answer any questions on non-Weddle units. Hopefully some of the other reps can jump in and answer questions on their units. All infor…

Ever since I blew up the rotary engine and went to Honda I have wanted to go turbo and finally have gathered up all the parts to make it happen. Thought this thread might help some people who are doing the same or have any plans to do turbo soon. Build Specs: Stock Block, 40mm wastegate set to 10 PSI, AEM Series 2 ECU (Dardan Tuned) , TO4 turbo and 550cc injectors running a 50/50 110 and 91 mix Added Breathers to the Valve Covers then did some wrinkle pant to clean them up. Mounted the intercooler in front of the raditator Figuring out the cold side piping P2R billet fuel rai…

Well, things are going in the right direction... I’m putting things back on the car. This is about as stripped as it got: I got the transmission and new CV’s back from the builder a few weeks ago and installed the trans and new CVs and bought new axels because there was some question as to if they had been turned around... and for good measure, I stopped at Kartek for some washers and stub axel bearings and they sold me a new set of one piece chromoly stub axles. One piece stub axles Great big fan for my 14” X 14” setrab oil cooler We did the math and used a calculator …

I dropped my car off at Alumicraft on Friday to have them start on the LS3 install - one of the things they are recommending is an oil cooler - I of course trust them and am moving forward with it, but curious of what others have done...pics would be nice - they are not yet sure where it's going to be placed yet.

Good evening, Looking for opinions on a Camshaft. I recently got a GM 6.0L Iron Block LC8 with 7K miles for a build I just started. It currently has VVT which I am deleting. It's going in a 5 seat car that will be dune'd leisurely on pump gas. I would like a little more aggressive sound however want it to idle. It has the 823 heads and the little research I have done pretty stout valve train as it was designed to run alternative fuels. Looking for any opinions or advice. Thanks in advance! Mark

I run a Charlynn to a ProAm manual front loaded rack about 12" long. I bought a 2nd rack for my next build thinking it would be very much the same thing except it wasn't. Mounts exactly the same, looks the same but it's only like 10.5" I started to think, it can't possibly have the same radius turning. I have clearance at the wheels for a little more radius and just wondered how can I use it more. My steering is ok, just wish there was more. I will also be going to electric steering next so I won't be doing a $2,000 steering ram setup either. Is there such a thing? Do they make these racks with more turn? 🤔

Intrigued to find out the pros and cons of hanging pedals vs floor mounted. Currently the car has floor mounted single master cylinder for front and rear brakes, I know not ideal.... Needing to move the pedals forward and possibly on a slider for adjustability to accommodate shorter drivers. For those who have had both floor and hanging which pedal setups did you like the best? I have never had hanging pedals, only ever drove a car briefly with hanging pedals once and that was years ago. Do the reverse hanging pedals feel much different from floor mounted? Looking at this Jamar reverse pedal setup - http://www.nexgenoffroad.com/product-p/ca4000-34-34-34.htm …

Need tips on how to get my motor transaxle out so I can have the tran gone through. Then I would put everything back in and take it to Outfront for tuning. My big question is I cant get a motor lift attached since the intercooler/radiator/panels are in the way. Am I right to just slide the M&T off the back say on plywood to get it on the ground? Thanks for help.

What type of cable are you using - and what type of throttle cable support are you using on your LS? With my push-pull cable it looks like the below are my two options... Hoping people can post pictures of their setups and what brackets their using for cable supports...I'm also looking into which throttle body I should purchase for an LS3. Thank you!
