As I have been sitting here looking and waiting. What are the different models of Funco's? Obviously they had they old school bus looking one (Gen1) then gen 2, gen 3, then Gen 4, Gen 5, Gen 6, Hustler(s), GTU, GTX, GTF, Enzo, the F9 and I am sure there are others, but what makes each of those that model. What are the differences?

Yeah I'd like to know what the difference is between all the new models? I believe some are wider than others...... F9 is a full body?

Great thread and timely

Gonna sit back and watch this with interest so we can get a feel for the perception out there

It is not really as complicated as perceived but very nuanced !

I mean... I don't know the correct answer for all cases, so I'm not going to answer.

I always thought the LEBEC was it's own model with conventional (for the time) styling and coilover shocks (vs airbags) and NOT a rebadged Hustler?

Then there's my buddies ENZO...

Here is a list I compiled between the Gen 3 and Gen 4. I am very close to pulling the trigger on a gen 3.

Some of the changes from the Gen. 3 to Gen 4

More travel, from 17" front to 18" and 18" rear to 20"
New style airbags w/ rubber bumpers internal to the bag
Uniball trailing arm pivots (from Derlin bushings)
Longer axels w/ 5.5" backspace wheels so car will still fit in a trailer
Better power steering rack.
4" longer wheel base
And a bunch of cosmetic stuff

A 2003 Gen 3 should of had the heim joints in the front suspension already.

-Midboard hubs (12 bolts) on the Gen4 instead of microstubs (3 bolts), which accomodates the longer axles to allow for more travel without abusing the CVs.

- Better radiator setup, uses a cradle instead of hardmounts
-C&R radiator instead of Ron Davis radiator
-A-arms are bigger tubing, heavier duty
-Larger front spindle axles
-The overall length is about 6 to 12" longer than Gen3, depending on Subaru or V8
-Bigger gas tank, hold 3 more gallons
-Cast iron rear suspension pivots
-Gas gauge for gas tank, instead of visi-gauge mounted on tank.
- Billet rear view mirror

Most of the upgrades cannot be implemented on the Gen3. With all the changes with Gen 4.

Here’s my guess..

Gen 4 and up same car midrail down with a few exceptions.

Gen 6 96” wide aluminum body.

gtx same 96” wide fiberglass body.

gtu 102 wide, 3.5 shocks in the rear fiberglass body.

f9 same 102, 3.5, fiberglass body is different, top of the line everything no exceptions.

Howd I do do Grant?!

I would think the only one to answer your question thoroughly would be @Grant@Funco unless he does not even know 🤔 all of the differences.😅

Close the gtu comes with 3-inch shocks 3.5 are an option. F9 all boxes checked but it's an aluminum body not fiberglass.

Sit down with an order sheet and you'll see what comes with what.

Should not need to a order sheet to have this question answered.

I've finally got all the new models down, except the GT ANA. I thought that was a one off named after the car owners wife but I see it as it's own model on Funco website.

Grant is the man. Amazing experience buying a Funco.

All the models are the same with few changes.  Mostly body panels.   your choice of 100" or 96".   shocks you pick what you want. Most upgrades are listed on the order form.  base roller comes with 930's and 2.5 shocks. from there sky is the limit.  cars are priced with hood and windshields. The frame and suspension is the same on the Gen 4, 5, and 6.  All the new cars are Gen 6's. Body panels make the name changes.   GTX, GTU, GTQ etc. F9 like mentioned is all the options checked and loaded cars. Starting at $225k for the fully loaded F9.  you could have a new car built for closer to $100k but it will be stripped and basic.  Think most people want to know the prices as well but that is up to what you want and order.

Trying also to see what is on a build sheet to try and figure out what to have built .  I’m sure Funco is busy I left a email 2or3 weeks ago to ask what’s needed to put a deposit down and that time do you have to decide on everything for the build .

Just call Grant give him five thousand bucks you put your name on the list. You have plenty of time to decide what you want to build. Shocks, seats ,things like that take a while so know your transmission and shocks you want
