Ebay.  Use 300-80035D as your search.  That is the dismantler's code for the J35A4

Any reason you like the J35A4 better than the J35A3? Cheaper on more available from the Pilot? Seems like a lot of the engine swap builder guys likes the A3 for better breathing heads and a stronger block....(but I don't have any hands on comparison.)

You're thinking the J32A2.  The J35A3/4 are basically the same.  One came in Acuras, the other in Hondas

edit.... I wouldn't recommend the 32A2 for him.  The only time you see these have the failure he did is when boosted.  The 32A2 has something like 11:1 compression.  NOT boost friendly.

I actually meant the J35A3 (not recommending for him just asking). I looked into it for building a boosted engine with new forged rods and pistons, and the J35A3 block has the same casting number as the J32A2 which is supposed to be a little stronger and have better cylinder liners, and also slightly better breathing from heads and cams?

But if you are not boosting the engine probably not much real world difference between the 2, like you said, plus the A4 comes in Hondas so easier and cheaper to find.

The 32A2 block does have more external webbing.  To the best of my knowledge the 32A2 and the 35A3 DO NOT share any of the parts (block/heads/cams/valves)that separate the 32A2 apart from the rest of the early J field..  The 35A3 and A4 have the same power rating.  "Better" heads/cam in the A3? Numbers don't support that.

At the end of the season I'll be selling my 2001-2003 Turbo J32A.

Complete: Motor, turbo, exhaust, intercooler, computer, wire harness and 2d adapter plate.

Just throwing that out there.

Pretty sure your heads won't bolt to that block.

Search for an engine from a '99-00 Odyssey.

ETA...your adapter plate won't work, and the front of those engines is pretty different too.

If you have the time you could have the block re-sleeved.  Its about the same cost as getting a new engine though.

What did it run to have the sleeves put in? Also did they include pistons?

LA Sleeve Co charged me about 550 to have a new sleeve put in.  Does not include pistons.  Now this is for a single sleeve of the OEM type.  They do offer the Darton sleeves and other similar sleeves.  I chose to go this route because I have block guards installed in my engine and the cost to replace the block would be almost 1k.

If you have this done, just take a piston with you and they will bore tot he correct size to match the other cylinders.

Yup! Turns out my tuner ran it a bit ragged to get some extra power. made one of the rods look almost like a question mark.

Safe to say I wont ever use him again.

Rods and Pistons plus studs going in shortly.
