The Fishing Hole

Recommended Posts

I'd like to hit the creeks but dont know anything about it and have never tried fly fishing before. Beautiful area for sure. We took the WW up two years ago but rented a cabin this year (almost as cheap as fuel).

Little 1/16th rooster tail in the creeks, with a little micro rod is the ticket! (my buddy does single salmon eggs and does just as well.)

I've pulled trout out in 6" of water with those roosters.

No more Spider-Man pole for my kid. This year I got him his own pole ($17). He landed 8 trout that day plus the largest between my dad , me. And him. We fish at Navajo lake in Utah.

Nice. My old man bought a new rod/reel years ago ('87ish) and I grabbed it and ran down to the lake. First cast I reeled in the biggest trout of the day  I loved that pole and used it every time we went.

Nothing better than landing a trout in a creek with a fly rod and dry fly. I can't go back to a spinning reel again.

Both of those lakes are good, love fishing Panguitch river too, it has been way too long since I have been up there.

lake vs creek

lake is boring and frustrating to me, sitting and waiting or always casting and reeling with a spinner

creek is fun always moving up/down stream finding fish is pools, back wash from a rock, lazy flats; keeps my mind thinking all day

100% agree. I love stream fishing. We are heading up July 10th for a week and cannot wait.

Love Bridgeport area, my father in-law and I like to creek fish not lake... We usually stay at doc and al's and fish the Robinson, Buckeye and Green creeks. Took my 5th wheel back into Buckeye campground that was a great trip!

Grew up going there for 7-10 days every June/july. We always rented the cabin right above the river. Lot of great memories my brother and i roaming around up there with my dad and step mom. Can't wait for my boys to be a little older to take them.

My late uncle was a fly tying animal. He developed his own equipment for tying. He lived in Lake Isabella, so he got a lot of time to use them.

Yeah, I have no idea why he made that one. You need heavy magnification just to put a line on it.

Probably great for bait fish now that I think about it.
