Banshee Rebuild

Recommended Posts

Let the fun begin. Finally reodoing my banshee after 14 hard years of abuse. After all the failed stators and flywheels the crank end finally called it quits. Decided to do it over and make it pretty again. Powdercoating and rechroming, engine refresh, new plastics, al9ng with some other upgrades ive wanted. Still just my dune bike but cant part ways with it.

The crank killer.

Try metro plating in mesa but be sitting down when they tell you.what it costs. They are one the better ones in the valley.

No!!!!!!!!! One does not powdercoat over chrome bling!!! Blasphamy i say!!!! Lol.

Worst case i will polish them up the best i can. We all know how tight it gets as the season starts. The chrome isnt horrible just a little dull from the sand.

Post more pics I'll follow.

Some favorite parts of mine are shearer pipes, chain tensioner by chariot, case saver by pro desings

And the eBay Tto gauge for temperature

This banshee is new to me this season and I'm going to try powder coat black chrome or powder coat chrome

After getting the frame stripped a friend welded on it for me fixing some cracks and redoing the factory splatter welds. Ill hit it later today to remove uneeded brackets and such. Kinda torn over aticking this much more in the banshee, i could have bought a decent used 450, but it needed some love after all the years of abuse. I think it is going to be bad azz so thats all that matters right? Ill get some picts of the goodies before install, have to get the frame ready for monday.

Hit a setback. Just went to get my chrome back. Lmao.. they wanted $525 to rechrome my pipes. I can get new for $685. And $300 just to do my arms over. Getting out the mothers and using some elbow grease to clean them up. What a joke... $850 to chrome 4 a arms and 2 pipes. Im in the wrong business. Anyone have a place to send stuff too get chromed for a decent rate?

The added cost is the fact that your pipes are used is what they told me when I went to get my old Banshee pipes dipped.

Get some NeverDull and elbow grease. Unless they're pitted, you should be able to bring it back.
