Recommended Posts

This is a couple of Kits we converted, as the tires get larger the Combo spindles just can not keep up, so some board members asked me to put up some pictures

Great thread.

I have an 07 SU Sand Pro 2 mid-engine at about 2200 lbs. running STU 10.50 x 17 Razor Backs on King Kong snouts. Do you think I need 2" hollows?

King kong, snout's should be good on the shaft with that size tire, I would just have them magged ever other year, the snouts are strong but the mounting

surface is still the same size as a combo, so the shaft to not break in half like a combo but some times they break out of the plate

Just a question, what prevents the same thing ^^ from happening when putting a strong 2.0 snout on the same spindle that either combo or KK spindles were on? Not bagging, just asking.. and I thought you used to slip the 2.0 over the spuds instead of cutting the whole plate off. did you change the procedure?

if you take do the calcs on the diameter, you almost have 3 times the mounting surface, or 3 times the welding surface, with us you also get a large .500 mounting plate

that it welds to,

Thanks for the advice. However, the pics of the 2" hollows do look very beefy and inviting.

Time for me to upgrade. What would you recommend, will King kongs cut it or should I just do it right the first time and go with 2" hollows? I have a dejong monster Manx. Care weighs in at 1640 lbs and front is on 33" Baja pros with aluminum Douglas wheels. Reason for upgrade is I snapped off a combo last year and just the other day pulled the spindle out plate and all.
