Happy Easter Everyone....

What a nice surprise...Our very own Mac @Mac made a special appearance as the one and only Mac Wabbit.

It takes a lot for him to come out...I guess he's partial to Easter!

:bag:

Sorry.....(Not Really)

Nope! I like it! I don't know Jeff's favorite colors, but this pattern with maybe some other colors. Keep the black under the fenders and motor area. Maybe the Gulf Oil colors? Light blue car and orange door section? Or the opposite?

I like the more white but maybe a digital camo theme.

Had some time in between prepping clients cars so blocked out a week for some maintenance on my car during this off-season. Shocks rebuilt, front and rear hubs prepped, CV's and axles prepped... then things kinda got out of hand.

Car is still at powder coat so I decided to use my 'free' time to try something different.  I had the shocks rebuilt (long overdue) by David @shock_prep_unlimited on IG in Riverside.  I asked him to have the coil springs powder coated black and get new black sliders from King.  We talked about having the shock bodies done in black cerakote but it was wayyyy more then I wanted to spend on something just for looks.  Powder coat was also an option but I've heard some bad things about the shock bodies warping when they get baked and then they leak forever.  David mentioned he knew some people use Steel It to paint the shocks.  So that's what I did.

The stickers had to go.  I don't plan to put them back on, I know who made the shocks and which tubes are rebound and compression.

Masking them off wasn't as bad as I thought.  I used Goof-Off to get the sticker residue off and then a light scouring pad and mineral spirits to scrb them.  Wiped them down and then used a clean rag and more mineral spirits for a final wipe down.  I let them air dry then hit them with a light coat of Steel It.  I waited about 20 minutes between coats and planned to do 4 coats for each shock.  Then I got a message from my buddy @drofmij recommending 3 coats max because its' much easier to touch them up later on.  He used Steel It on his Class 10 race car and said it's great.

I'm really happy with the result.  Going to have my buddy @tintman put some clear bra on them when he wraps the car.

Thanks man.  Can't wait to get the chassis back from powder coating and start putting the car back together.

They did come out nice.

Are you able to use the adjusters on the coil overs with out it coming off in the threads?
