Don't forget the added fee of probably $120 that will be included your next registration fee. Good thing is the registration money will be redirected to pay for the underfunded Ca state worker pension fund. Thanks for making people's life better one fill up at a time.

Nothing like being forced to pay for someone else's idea of what to do with your money.  But that's life in a liberal, socialist paradise for ya!

An old guy told me long ago, Democrats want to take your money away from you and give it to someone else. Nothing I've seen has changed that thought.

In the near future we're going to be wishing for the good ole Jerry Brown days. He does actually veto some of the way out liberal legislation. Once Newsome is Governor, all bets are off.

Just look at it this way.... It's moonbeams way of getting rid of the people who don't really want to be in California anyway... Couple more taxes like this and all of those candy assed people will move to other states. Can you imagine how empty the freeway's and beaches are going to be.

My local 76 where I usually use to buy my diesel went up 35 cents a gallon. A little padding their profit along with the tax??? I'm shocked  :shocker:

Add to this the proposed change in federal taxes which will erase the higher deductions most you working Californians get for contributing to an out of control state government.   Lower tax states have to subsidize California federally if you think about it... a day of reckoning needs to happen there but it probably never will.

Democrat strategy could all be summed up to giving free stuff to at least 51% of the population to continue and expand the madness under their control.

We are at 47% right now of people that not only pay no income tax at all but a large percentage of them get returns from credits!  Everyone should at least have some sort of skin in the game!

They're doing similar for mortgage write-offs as well (I think it was $1M).  Sounds fine, but $1M in Bay Area is a regular Joe type house, and $1M in Decatur, AL is a mansion.  Gotta love national standards for really anything.

That being said, the top bracket will move from $400k to $1M.

In all fairness raising real estate transaction fees to provide affordable housing will most likely create a net zero in total tax burden, or not. It does remind me of a statement I once saw, "Fighting for peace is like making love for virginity."

This was the straw that broke the camel's back for Gray Davis. That was back when California was saveable. No longer. Now a majority of the voters appear to want all the taxes Sacramento can conceive.
