Evil was there.  Didn’t you see the little guy on Pastrona’s shoulder.  He was just like the little Keven Harvick on the Mobil Oil

commercial.  ?

Cool tribute to Evel while clearly making Travis the master showman.  The prep for this had to be rigorous because the end product looked fairly easy to pull off. You know it had to be harder than it looked.  The fountain landing looked pretty hard to me.

On the 3rd jump he did have a little head thump on the landing but still made it look easy.

I counted 5 skid marks on the landing. Me thinks he did the a few times to prep. Either way. You wont catch me doing it on THAT bike. He’s a phenomenal rider

One year in Laughlin leaving the Riverside durning the River Run, this old dude walks out and calls to my son Adam to give him a ride to another casino.

Adam was like I'm not giving this guy a ride on my bike. Thats when everyone came up shaking his hand and telling him this is Evel Knievel. Needless to say Adam gave him a ride.

So I recorded it and the first thing I saw a was the end of the last jump! Everyone going crazy, he made it... :kenk: I guess there was an overlap from my rerecording to a previous one.

I was like, ok so I know he doesn't crash on the other ones.

I'll still watch the whole thing. I'll just fast fwd through all the fluff.

Great show.   But the real reason for the show is part of the marketing plan for upcoming Vegas residency.  Its Genius to let more people know about Nitro Circus and Travis P.

Enjoyed it none the less!  Huge Evil fan!

To think Evel did all those jumps with limited technology on the bikes and the ramps. Evel was the man.

I noticed the same thing...…..my buddy here at work said it was from when he first rode over there and did some burn outs on the ramp.

No matter...……...I thought the whole thing was weak and kind of an insult to the memory of Evel. Not taking anything away from Pastrana but if he wanted to do it right he should have used the exact same equipment.

I enjoyed it but it would have been even better to watch him do it on one of the actual model and year bikes Evil did those jumps on. Even the bike he used was a custom purpose built bike. Not to take anything way from TP but the preparation and technology available to him today is why what he did looked so easy. Evil will always be the greatest daredevil!

Watch Evel's jumps. His ramps were much shorter in height. Travis's landing ramp was damn near as high as his flight path.

Not that we needed another rag-doll like the first or like Gary Wells when he tried it.

Evel's ramps look like the ones we all used as kids on our bicycles in the field next door.

this was my thought of watching it, or maybe so many years of watching FMX, I was like yeah ok that was nothing. looks like the ramps take out the talent of balls of the rider. I kinda feel like you go grab a group of people at the local track and they could make that jump. the ramp on the fountain jump was higher than the fountain as well as the landing ramp, doesn't matter what you put between the ramp, as long as the motor doesn't cut out you are going to make it. im sure travis does bigger crazier jumps at home when he is bored.

Amazing the abuse he took and lived to 69. Never noticed the sharp angle and g out at the bottom of the ramp. One bad mofo to jump those old bikes.

Looking back at the video's I noticed he only shifted 1 time on the first 2 jumps and didn't shift at all on the last jump. Anybody know any details on trans or sprocket set up ??

Started in 2nd gear, shift to 3rd. I did see them start the bike with a hand held starter (if that's what they are called). Bikes were built by Roland Sands. They may have had 4'' of travel but it was all engineered for the jump - not taking anything away from TP. He did wear dress boots!

Skids on the ramp: Used the ramps in practice. He had an entire set up for preparation & testing. Pretty sure he wasn't able to jump the fountain w/o anyone seeing him do it before 'the' actual jump.
