LS alternator options when not using an OEM computer

Recommended Posts

Im not using a computer on my LS build that will control an alternator. I have read tons about it and see where hot rod guys are using 1 wire and self exciting alternators. Any of you guys have experience with this type of alternator? Any other suggestions?

I have a factory GM alternator using a single wire on my Turnkey LS7 with a Mefi 4b.  Had a factory GM alternator using a single wire on my LS2 with a BigStuff3 ECU.

small case is 160 and the big case is 180

I see allot of belt slip and chatter on the dyno so we recommend the GrayArea or KRC pulley on the alternator

Yep got one of those, Holley included one when I bought the Terminator EFI from them.  There has been a lot of useful information linked in this thread, thanks to all who have offered help.
