Grew up in Forest Lakes. Amazing areas to ride/enjoy/fish all within an hours drive or you can take any of the forest roads for hours of beautiful rides.

Forest lakes is an Awesome area. Tons of places to ride, fish, kayak, hike or whatever floats your boat. Friend has a cabin in forest lakes and I’m sure we will be doing tons of riding next summer up there to beat the heat. He spent this past summer doing a full remodel on his cabin and adding plenty of RV hook up parking so we can leave the toy haulers up there all summer.

Not many good places to eat around there unless you make the drive to payson or heber tho. Not a huge deal but that’s about my only complaint of the area

We park the RV on 300 road to Black Canyon Lake. You can SxS to Black Canyon Lake. You can take the back roads all the way to Heber (cool trail with historical markers on it) and decent chance of seeing deer early in the morning.   You can cros 260 and go to the Rim Country store for ice cream.  There’s a bunch of trails I haven’t tried on the north side of the 260 that are supposed to be awesome.  You can drive 10 minutes to Willow Springs for awesome trout fishing too. 75BF8080-C60C-49D1-B0F2-7A09EE5C0610.thumb.jpeg.db2179e0ba7b73134d5b7779dd12b137.jpegD0CD41E5-DAA9-454D-B22E-2AE0C3BFD4D8.thumb.jpeg.43201a7ada6c5f36a0958db131350a4d.jpeg0E6532F5-B4B9-48B3-BE74-BF89F9C74609.thumb.jpeg.a56e0cdf72234f1af531e7d2615cbb0d.jpeg

The 300 road will take you all the way through Showlow and into Pinetop if you want to venture that far. There are also back roads to Winslow, Snowflake, Clints Well, etc. We park our rig in forest lakes during the summer and are up there almost every other weekend from May through October.

We rode all the way down to Chevlon Lake and had a blast.  Plenty of trails to explore.  Defiantly want to wait for monsoon season if you are traveling in a group though .

I usually go out there during Fathers Day Weekend. Lots of fun! We typically camp out at the Aspen Campground.

We took the 300 from Forrest Lake to Show Low today. Saw a few deer and tons more wild horses. Most of the time  there were 10 to 15 horses in a group. DON~~~
