Tire pressure for wet sand

Recommended Posts

I have the normal 14.50 Dunesports on the Funco.  Last wet trip I ran 21 psi and it still felt like to much bite. How much psi can you go up to in these tires for less bite? 25 psi? 30 psi?  Or will anything over 20 even make a difference. They feel pretty firm at that.

New Years at Buttercup we ran 20.  With wet sand it always seems like you have an extra 100hp. haha

Interesting, Did not even think of that. Guessing you also drop the pressure so it rides better. I normally run 15 in dry sand.

I was running 24 Lbs last trip out.  It had rained 3 days before we were there so under the first inch it was pretty darn wet........

I run 25 when it’s wet. Makes it feel like I’m on ice skates. Kinda fun but I like it squirrelly. I’m also not trying to break any speed records when it’s wet.

16 on mine but their just 13,00 number 2s. I use to run 12-13 dry with the old vw first trip this year with Honda it was wet so started at 16  and just kept it there.  Definitely breaks tires loose on wet sand.
