Freightliner XC chassis rear wheel hub cover?

Recommended Posts

Apparently had the right rear wheel hub cover exit stage right at some point on my drive home yesterday so looking for a replacement. Any recommendations online or in SoCal? It’s an 05 Freightliner XC chassis with AccuRide wheels. Are they just standard Freightliner covers?

There is a freight liner shop/store on Miramar Rd. That should have them. Probably right around $100 if I remember correctly.

Oh yes, that’s right. Just around the corner from work, I’ll go have a visit at lunch. Thanks!

The hard part will be putting it on unless they can be put on without taking the tires off.

The wheel doesn't need to come off.

Do tell?

What Diesel-E said. The badge screws onto the stud that you can see in the pic he posted.

actually the stud you see in the pic isn't supposed to be there without the nut that has the Freightliner logo on it as it is either glued into or cast into the "nut" itself. they have the "nut" in stock at Freightliner and I can tell you for sure that the stud is not supposed to come out of it, only supposed to thread into and out of the bracket that is bolted to the hub. thoughts are that the "nut" may have cracked or otherwise broken and fallen off from some reasonable bump in the road.

$125 for the two parts tho, ouch. oh well it is what it is.
