Identify this car?🤔

Recommended Posts

Hello all, haven't been on here in years, once I started racing desert, Glamis got left behind.  I slowed down on racing last year and got back to Glamis. I bought this car a few months ago, did some race prepping on it and have taken it out twice now.  It's been a blast to drive, has an ecotec and 2d mendeola.  The paddles are a bit much for the ecotec but planning to solve that with a turbo ecotec over summer.  0406190945.thumb.jpg.88fee616833a2016551cb311e36c0087.jpg0217191023.thumb.jpg.689e43068c85ebaa83ae31b45a2a7309.jpg0217191020a.thumb.jpg.8376bce33c99b40e707abee02bafbcbd.jpg

The guy I bought the car from said he bought the chassis from the sandshow in 2001 or 2002? And then had another shop finish it for him.  Is anyone able to tell who built the chassis?

Thanks all,

Mike

John Moseley said it's not his chassis.

I have noticed that the front arms are similar to some older SU cars.

From the side it looks similar to a Tech 3.

Pic of the one I had several years ago.

After looking harder at  the front with the new photos, it looks like amplified’s work

Look closely at the area on the upper a-arm sure looks like Amplified spelled with a lazer.

I guess im not seeing it, but, the design of the arms, and the front of the frame/rack mount is just like amplifieds i’ve seen

I've never heard of amplified so I did some looking.  From what I was able to pull up on Google, the front arms pivots are different, amplified uses bushings at the rear pivot versus a heim..

Hears an interior shot0127191709.thumb.jpg.d311a29d222eb97ea7d70057528df1d2.jpg

I would focus more on the rear and the main cage of the car, the front may have been a beam car conversion done after the chassis was manufactured. possibility that it could be a one-off or a garage built chassis as well using other companies parts and geometry

No idea on the make, but it looks like a fun car to drive

Definitely a fun car to drive.

Need to rebuild all the brake masters because turning brakes only work if I have slight pressure on the foot brake.

True, once I saw a full rear view it clearly wasn't a mosebilt. John built a lot of mid-engine cars with loooong rear trailing arms and this looked familiar at first glance.

I say one off or garage build, that transmission cradle is unlike any I’ve seen

The rear boxed arms do look like his, I would think he would know his car.

boxed arms look like a mosebuilt, on the DD car we are building for Juan, it has mosebuilt rear boxed arms on a DD car, this should help confuse people when we are done
