Jeep’s carpet got a little soaked on the crossing, but all in good fun. Hopefully it won’t mildew too terribly. :bigrin

BTW: entered at Ft Mohave and exited near Barstow.

Rescued this feller on Day 2. Had been stuck for over an hour and was mega-lost. 80982E77-559D-449E-A0F6-74022B978B8B.thumb.jpeg.709783e321e54b96120a681453c11b7f.jpeg

Yep. Right in the middle of Soda Lake

Looked like he was about to cry when we yanked him out.

No clue, he wasn’t even really sure. Just said he was heading out for a solar install... Seemed super odd and we wondered if he was getting hazed as a rookie. :bigrin

Did he have any kids tied up in the back?

Are we gonna see more of that guy on the 11 o'clock news?

I have a buddy who keeps trying to get me to do this. I tell him it looks like flat boring stuff. What are your thoughts?

It's definitely not a speed run and not rock crawling but plenty of cool sites to see.  Great views and cool parts to the trail.  IMO it's worth doing at least once.

Couple of pics of the "megaphone" - not sure what the real name of this is but cool to check out.  Can't give coordinates - part of the fun is finding all the stuff yourself.  It's on top of a hill off the trail.

Camped in the trailrecon campsites, which were pretty awesome.

Up near New York Mountain is some rock crawling if you're bored.  I did almost the entire trail in 2WD (one steep descent, didn't need traction) without issues...

But, you see some pretty damned cool stuff.  I had just as much fun on this trail than I did on the Rubicon.

I did that run in my Bronco two years ago but we started off of Cleghorn in the Cajon Pass ran through Lucerne towards Newberry Springs and camped one night in Afton Canyon. Next day ran most of the Mojave Trail but we cut north to State Line. Awesome time for sure!
