So a few months ago my friend got me hooked on pickled eggs, they go great with beer ...... So I needed to make some of my own. The first ones I made I just used left over Clausen pickle juice, added a few garlic cloves and some Cholula hot sauce. They were mighty tasty, but I needed to do my own thing. Today I tried, a million recipes online, all different..... So this is what I did, water and vinegar, pickling salt, and bunch of different crap, eggs and onions, and peppers. We will see in a week if I successfully made tasty stuff 😁..

Anybody else make their own? Care to share a recipe?

BTW I'm 6-7 drinks in.....sounds like a great idea at the moment

The BEST pickled eggs I've ever has were at Joe Jost's in Long Beach along with a Coors Light on tap. Maybe it was the ambiance or the company of friends, but those were really good.

Every few years I go on a pickled egg kick and start doing them. Last time I did a batch with cracked pepper that were really good and then did a batch with mild peppers and they were ok. And now, thanks to this thread, I have to do them again. Guess I'm boiling eggs tomorrow.

I love pickled eggs.  Mine is simple vinegar the hot yellow chiles and add some of the Japanese red chilies.

Been trying different recipes for 13 years now.

Best bet has been yellow hot pepper juice (99cent store). Top off with vinegar.  Toss in sliced onions.   Include half a jar of the yellow peppers.  Take bites of the pepper with the eggs.

Smaller eggs the better.  Taste/texture best 3-6 weeks.

This is an easy way to make them too. I've tossed in a few eggs in just the left over juice, and they are great.

Best and easiest way to boil eggs?

Place eggs in pan, cover with cold water and bring to a boil. I also add 1/4 cup of vinegar at this point.

Boil 1 minute and cover pan and turn off heat.

Let stand 9 minutes.

Then cool them under cold water or ice bath.

The eggs will not be overcooked and won't have that blue ring around the yolk.
