they are calling it the tenaja fire. that is my community.  one friend it came within 100 yards of his house but passed.   they are not going to sleep tonight.  their power is off but they have genny back up.  another friend of mine has been ordered to evacuate as his backyard is at the base of the hill.  he took his trailer downtown to a church parking lot

thanks.  they are thinking lightning.  there are lots of hiking trails up there. im guessing a tossed cigarette possibly.  there was massive flair up of wind right when it happened. like 30/40 mph winds. even rained on me down the hill for 5 min.  freaky............AOC must be right.

I thought you were in that area. I've done many homes up there from the 80's. Love the area. So many Indian rocks (grinding holes) in the boulders, turtles in the creeks. Hiked and 4 wheeled all over before it was built up. Hope you stay on the good side of the wind.

you know now if only i could figure out how to include my one oak tree in the fire it would save me $6000.  watching the fire on the news and there are hundreds of oaks getting burned up right now🤔

I was going to mention the cost savings in a particular oak tree catching fire but didn't want to come off insensitive to the danger not far away.

I was gonna say tree move problem solved. LOL

Now you have a recorded day semi close that’s researchable.

Cut the tree down. Make note somewhere the day tree caught fire from embers. You were devastated.

didnt want it to fall and hurt anyone so you sadly had it cutdown. 😁

John, I was thinking about you guys earlier tonight...hope you guys are hanging in there. Even though we are some distance away ourselves it's those roaming ashes that freak me out. They are all over the neighborhood. Be safe my friend

I saw a sikorsky sky crane helicopter heading down your way from San Bernardino yesterday evening. Must have been headed to the fire.

Glad you are OK, you were the first person I thought of when it started yesterday.  Around the time it started, we had freaky weather, high winds with dust blowing everywhere.  Even had serious white caps on the lake.

I thought of you yesterday John when I heard it was in my neighborhood. You have lots of open land near you that just adds fuel to the fire. Glad you're ok.

Lightning strikes all over... :bigrin

That being said: those oaks are HARD to kill, even with fire.
