Why should you drop lift forks on the ground when not in use?

Just wondering if these 1-timers should be placed in the Weird things you see at work or anywhere else topic in order to keep the forum topic list more efficient as we approach the new season?  This isn't the first time I've had this on my mind.

I use to have to drive my fork lift across town from time to time and you always stay as far to the right as you can and there is always some dummy that sticks the front of there car out in your way and I would just raise the forks up to level and watch them back up. DON~~~

What kind of idiot sees a forklift and doesn't expect forks sticking out of the front of it? Bouncing her head off of the cement might have knocked some sense into her.

Like the clown who bashed his shin into my trailer hitch on my truck in a parking lot. He started screaming about "who puts a farking trailer hitch on a truck??" I said, "Everybody who tows a trailer. That's why we buy trucks, to tow trailers, so expect a trailer hitch on the back of every truck. Your best bet is to watch where you're going. Always a good idea."

He didn't seem too receptive to common sense at the time.

Did you see her purse/bag landed and stayed on the left fork. You couldn't do that if you tried.

I for one feel for her, I hit my head once in a while working  on a car  rack at 1mph  let alone 10mph, and it hurts like crazy. I cant tell if she caught her neck or chin on the fork:kenk:?
