Pulling the bra off

Recommended Posts

I am having the diamondshield clear bra removed off my rig, because it looks like crap.  Should I even replace it? do any of you guys regret going bra-less?

is 3M any better than diamondshield?  I believe all the newer product are supposed to be much better than the stuff from the late 2000's....at least that is what they say.

I believe you'll have to put something back on because the adhesive is almost impossible to remove and doesn't come clean,  I have tried every chemical I can find and it's still won't come off. it looks clean but is soon as the motorhome gets dusty you can see all the adhesive residue again. I'm going to have a black vinyl wrap go over it to hide it.

"Looks like crap"... like bug stains, water spots and light scratches crap?  Before you tear it off, try using a DA polisher and compounding it... I polish mine regularly, cleans up nice.  Bought the coach new 13 years ago, Diamondshield has seen almost 50,000 miles of abuse, still looks good.

If its less than 30 years old it will be fine without a bra. If its over 30 years old better put a bra on it.

Last year I removed a vinyl hood decal and used this to clean off the leftover adhesive. It it sort of like a stronger goof off. Use a plastic razor blade from and auto detail supply store.

I purchased from Hot wax in Stanton.

We remove them a lot and re-install the ones that don’t get the film put back on usually look like the front end got hit with a shotgun shell. The product I use is from xpel comes with 10 year warranty, will not stain from bugs all self healing etc.
