Mendeola 2d reverse sensor leak

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if I can get a replacement sensor at Autozone or Napa? Mine has a slow leak that I would like to fix. I just had the tranny rebuilt at Rancho so maybe they put in a bad one. I don’t know. I’ve tried tightening and it’s in there tight. Almost looks like it leaks where the black plastic meats the nut. I don’t use this sensor so even if their was a plug to put in would be fine.

Looks like a regular VW one.  You only need a 2 prong version (the 3rd prong is for the warning light if the switch fails).  So just ask for one from a 1966 Beetle.

Not sure if they are the same but my old swing axle car had a threaded plug  in it if you wanted to go that route vs replacing a switch that could leak again.

Found something similar at Pacific Customs

If you do not use the reverse light then you can use a Allen plug
