One year I was at the Sand Show checking out this Funco (pictured) and Gil was right there.

I asked him if they did mid-engine set ups.

He proceeded to talk to me for about 10 minutes on why they didn't cause they don't slide as good and weight distribution and why they use the Subi set-up...etc.!

Now, I had no business being there or really asking questions...I probably was getting in the way of making a sale...but man he was so cool and took the time to talk to me!

That was probably around 2008-2009 ish!

Thanks Gil...class act right there!

RIP!

Sad to hear this bad news.

Condolences to the family.

I met Gilmon in 1995, and it turned out, we knew some of the same people.

We spoke of SCORE, Funco, Corvair sand drag buggies, NOS, and many other topics of interest.

Always shook my hand when I visited.

Sad for sure..

R.I.P. Gill

Every year at the SSSS, I always stopped to talk to Gil.  He always would take the time to answer all my questions.  My condolences to the family.
