Oil Changes on new Can Am

Recommended Posts

I keep hearing about how the Brilliant Engineers made it almost impossible to change the oil on this thing without making a complete mess!

So, A friend of mine at work did this on his:

Took a long piece of PVC, about 1.25" dia I think...big enough to fit in the hole that lines up with the drain plug and fit the socket and long enough to be below the skid plate.

Then holding that in one hand...long extension/socket on your ratchet...loosen and just let the bolt fall into the oil bucket you have. No mess...unless your hand slips holding the PVC  :bag:

Works for both drain plugs...not sure why there are 2, but again...Canadian Engineering at its finest!

:lmao:

I use the center of a paper towel roll, the cardboard center. It fits in the hole without having to hold it. But same idea as the pvc.

I use this small coolant funnel I found at Autozone for  $ 1.49 works perfectly!
