COVID-19 cases pass 1M globally, over 50k deaths

Recommended Posts

I keep this screen up all the time and refresh. Finally have surpased 1 million global confirmed cases (from participating/honest countries, don't think I need to mention Iran, China) and 50k global deaths (same deal with the numbers).

My Dad sent me this email after discussing quick measures of isolation and not living in a dense area.

Friends:

We've been hearing a lot about the crisis in NY City. I thought it might be interesting to look at some data comparisons.

This is the raw data:

You can see that NYC started having their case count a few days before OC, but look how flat the OC data are in comparison with the NYC data. I hope the news about the NYC crisis scared us OC folks so we stayed more isolated.

As crowded as you think OC is it is nothing compared to NYC.  That is why they have the curve going thru the stratosphere.   5 story walk ups, elevators to get to apartment/ offices to get in to 40 story buildings.  Socals surrounding area  of LA, Ventura, San Berdo, San Diego and Riverside in the same square miles you have what 5 states and how many people.  Much more dense area. much quicker to spread a germ that lives 10 days infecting everybody and everything with out a single symptom.

Just think everybody you have come in contact with physically in the last 9 days could have either infected you or you have infected .

density and testing are the 2 biggest factors.  No place in the US as dense as new york.... subways, buildings, elevators, people using cabs / uber non stop etc.

the second mix to these #'s is testing..... New York has been going crazy with testing.......so you will see a lot higher # of cases

Phoenix Metropolitan area 308 people

L.A. Metropolitan area 2744 people

Kansas City Metropolitan area 260 people

New York City 28,000 people

See a problem here?

Where I live (Very boring place nothing to do here)

I really wonder how accurate this is though????

I have heard of people dying of something else, only to have the death certificate changed to COVID19 after the fact.

:wtf:

In this time it is important to take anything you hear that doesn't make any sense with a grain of salt. I just had a friend send me some video of a guy asking Alexa about the virus.  It then goes on a 40 second monologue on how it is a government conspiracy.  I told him well if Alexa said it , it must be true.

I know you can get Alexa to say anything you want it's pretty simple actually so when I get home I plan on making a video asking the same question to my Alexa......

My friend is not going to like the answer my Alexa is going to give

NYC is packed with no real space as almost everyone lives in some type of apartment or condo and highly relies on public transportation.   They can't get away from each other.  It a giant Petri dish for the virus.

That is the problem... some people are saying that only 12% of the Italian deaths were directly related to covid vs just having the virus in their system when they died....That would be devastating to the narrative.

It  finally surpassed the annual deaths for Rhuematoid Arthritis... do you expect it to exceed the >300k drowning deaths per year? What about just the 185k per year that die from fires? Will it even approach the ~110k that die from poisoning or skin cancer? ...how about the 330k per year that die from malnutrition ??? For the love of fk, if our stimulus would have been spent on food alone we could have certainly made a bigger dent than with covid…

Here's the >100 other things that DOES and WILL kill ten to a thousand times MORE people EACH YEAR than covid-19 https://www.worldlifeexpectancy.com/world-rankings-total-deaths

I'm not saying it's not deadly but for fks sake, we lose ~650k people globally to FALLS... where's the outrage to have a safety meeting? What about the 7 3/4 million that die to suicide each year...

In 2017, just in the US... not some third world shit hole, we had 3,564 DIE from malnutrition. 32,672 from FALLS …. fk the social distancing, I'm staying off ladders.
