Dockmaster
I'm about ready for my next car and wondering what you all recommend in a 4-door sports sedan type vehicle. My daily driver is currently a 2015 Genesis 5.0. I love the car and it has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned by far. But with 135k miles it's about time to get something new. It's still going strong with zero issues but I'm ready for something else. I don't drive nearly as many miles as I used to anymore so I might go something a bit more performance and fun. I'm currently looking at a the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Anyone have one or the predecessor? What do you like, not like, etc. What else do you think I should look at? I'm a big guy at 6'5" so I need lots of leg and headroom. I don't want to spend crazy money as I still drive to work. I would prefer to be in the $100k (ish) range, might go more for the right car. The Blackwings I see out there are around $130k fully loaded. I would try to find something slightly used if I can. What say you?
FENDERFAB
The CT5 is a nice ride. Hellcat charger is a good option- also porsche panamera or Bmw m5 if your looking for something foreign. Lexus GSF looks pretty sweet too.
zilla68
that jeep trackhawk was mean as hell, scared the chit out of me lol. well it did the driver also, first time to use launch control and man that thing scoots.
Dockmaster
I've been in a Trackhawk, fast but otherwise.... meh. Didn't do much for me., Hellcat is too typical for my liking. I prefer something a little more on the luxury finishes side but with some power. M5 is actually faster than the Blackhawk but you don't get that raw, V8 sound and rumble. I'll look up the Lexus GSF. Then again, maybe I should go electric? Tesla Plaid? X maybe? Lucid Air?

THD
CT5-V Blackwing. And if you buy it new, gm will pay the cost of attending the Cadillac driving course at the Ron Fellows driving school. We did it with the C8 and had a blast.
In Excess
I have varying interests in cars, for my 4 door needs I went with a 21 m5 competition. For a super heavy car this things does everything pretty flawlessly. It doesn’t stand out unless you know what your looking at it. Doesn’t have the sound have the performance v8’s out there, but it will run with most of them. Mileage is not good 16-17 ish, last I checked I didn’t buy it for mileage. Next car I buy will be a Porsche maybe a gt3
ElCaminoManT
Not sport sedan but anyone see the Escalade-V? One last hurrah from GM before electric takes over it feels like. Edited June 15 by ElCaminoManT
Forum Moderator Squatcher Posted June 15 Forum Moderator Share Posted June 15 I Had the 2012 CTSV pumped up to about 700 at the wheels on e85/flex fuel. Was a blast. I liked it much better than my c6. I had the coupe. I was going to order a New blackwing but bought some more land and sand cars instead. I really loved the Caddy and if you order one without the big brakes you can get right at 100k. Mine priced out was 96k. There are still the first 200 out there that comes with the driving school classes.

I drove a GT3 at the Porsche Experience a few years back. Best car I've ever driven . . . P.S My E39 M5 gets 13 mpg and sounds amazing.

I like hp, a little less hp and lightweight works too

Not that it fits what the OP is looking for, but not many cars will give you as many smiles per mile!

I need to pay off BMW this summer and wait for contractors to slow so I can can remodel house and add more garage space. It’s been 30 something years since my last 911 time to go down that road again.

I’d be viewed as the mid-life crisis, creeper driving in one alone. So, an AMG SL65 AMG vert is more appropriate for me.

wesinls
Audi RS6 Wagon's are bad ass too for a sedan / wagon...pictures don't do these cars justice. The 2nd pic is my RS5 that I'm selling....still torn on selling it, I'm wanting to have a classic car for a while. Not the 100k cars others are looking at, but for a mid 40k car it's hard to beat.

funco4lizzle
My wife has a 17 ATS-V. I wasn't excited coming out of a v8 CTS-v but the little twin turbo v6 gets it on. AND gets 26+ miles a gallon.

The only negative for me is the shiny interior for the dash buttons...I was torn on one of these or the RS5 above as I'm into 2 door coupes...and BMW's are too trendy for me...wanted something different.
Rockwood
Looking for ridiculous acceleration and shiney interior doodads, TV screens, LEDs everywhere, and paying subscription costs forever on features the car came with, but have no clue what the front end is doing and if it's listening? BMW. Also, lease this car. It will murder you on keeping all that chit running after warranty. Looking for engaging driving experience and don't mind the looks/mild GM interior chintz? Caddy. Less likely to murder you out of warranty. Budget for lots of rear tires. Looking for very capable and safe but fast and all-weather capable, but don't mind if it grinds the front tires to dust beyond 8/10ths driving? Audi. Comes in a wagon, which is sick. That being said, unless you live in San Diego where @ElCaminoManT can work on it, also something to lease. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/comparison-test/a37962857/2021-audi-rs7-vs-2021-bmw-m5-competition-cadillac-ct5-v-blackwing-compared/ Also, if you plan to row your own (only way to fly), Caddy is the only choice anyway.
