Advice on home theater setup in RV

Recommended Posts

I have a ton of questions and slowly learning. Going for budget friendly dont need anything super fancy. Got the Klipsch 5.1 speaker set from costco and also the Yamaha RX they were selling back during xmas deals. Was given some off brand TV that was won in a contest. Thats the components for now. My 2 current questions are:

1. Is speaker wire like this overly stiff? Would like something that coils up nicely because i might move the center channel speaker from under the TV to facing outside a window for outdoor tunes. 14/2 speaker wire with jacket

2. Can you please share what you have liked and what you hated regarding TV placement in your RV or toyhauler? Im in a front bedroom toyhauler with rear bunks. I originally pictured using the electric bunks as a cool drop down entertainment center. Nobody ever sleeps there. But when it comes to playing music and speaker placement, wont it sound much better if the TV was mounted on the side of the trailer? So that the left and right channels have more separation?

Dont waste your time.  Pickup a 5.1 sound bar system like the vizio they sell at costco.  Wireless sub and I spliced my existing rear speakers into that.  Sound amazing and is crystal clear.  Sub is perfect for that enclosed space.

I think the whole thing is maybe $150.  Converted about 5 people after they came in for a listen.  Could not believe the bass that tiny thing puts out.

Nice man glad you like it!! I went back and forth between a soundbar or individual speakers. Going to do similar to you and use the existing roof speakers for top firing atmos.

Forgot to mention that I have a pure sine wave 3000watt inverter that I leave on the whole time.  Not sure if you have an inverter but you will need one for it to work.
