I hope everyone is doing alright. I haven't been here in a while. I haven't been to Glamis in a while either!
I was just diagnosed with mild degenerative disc disease in my lower neck (T1-C7). I was wondering if anyone else has this and what suggestions there are.
I was bending forward while eating, felt a light crunch in my neck and got a sharp pain. In the days following the incident, I developed pain, numbness and pins and needles feelings in my left arm and leg. Got an xray, which led to the diagnosis. I was referred to a pain management doctor, who didn't recommend anything but physical therapy for the time being (which I think is a good thing). I'm also getting an MRI to see if there's any disc bulging or herniation.
In the days since, my symptoms has minimized. Sometimes I forget about them. I'm happy about that.
It's sort of a bummer because I'm in my early 30's. I'm also kicking myself for not getting disability insurance before this happened. I'm glad my ability to work hasn't been affected.
Just looking for advice from anyone who has or is going through this. Any success stories are welcome. My goal, of course, is to treat it the best I can and prevent any further damage.
