  1. I have a couple Specialized turbo Levo comps and Giant Carbon Trance Advanced E+2's. The Specialized app and all around electronics are superior and they have a good share of the higher end mountain bike market. I am not a fan of Specialized but ended up with a couple of their E Bikes due to the superiority. My buddies Archery shop in Prescott was selling some entry-mid level E-Bikes that were pretty robust, not sure if they still do, Hunters Choice ask for Zack if interested, bring your wallet for some new archery equipment as well (-=

  2. Interesting topic, Im 56 retired a year and half  ago and since then went on a low dose blood pressure medicine and a statin for cholesterol. My dad died at 50 while running (heart attack) and I truly believe it was due to stress hence my early retirement. I am an avid cyclist (8-12 hrs a week) and work out, should probably stop drinking but its my one e vice. I do stop taking statins before bicycle races because they cause me muscle fatigue but go back on them right after. Lots of guys I compete against do TRT and its benefits are apparent but I simply don't want to stick a needle in myself :blury:.  I tried using Ketones (ketone-IQ) this last Saturday for an endurance gravel race and like most supplements they just spun me up a tad too much so I doubt I'll use it again. For me I have to have events on the calendar to train for, also utilizing strava and other apps to track progress (or lack of it) motivates me and helps me hold myself accountable. I'm 6'2' and 190 lbs, I can over eat or try to starve myself and my weight barley fluctuates as I get older so I don't pay much attention to it, I try to keep muscle tone and energy up instead.

  3. Interesting, good info here as Ive been pondering buying a rental property or two. We retired out of Ca, the issue I'm having is with the current interest rates if I buy a property in this area I basically make in rent what the money makes in a CD with no headaches. Now, when rates drop and / or if cost of buying housing drops I'll reconsider my position.

  4. It would simply come down to math and objectives for me. If you have been setting yourself up for retirement the last 30 years and have a really solid nest egg postponing the date you retire by switching to a job that is enjoyable to you can have a profound positive impact on your retirement. There are a lot of generic retirement calculators (ie nerd wallet) and is amazing what waiting a couple years to dip into retirement savings does for projections. If you are in need of accruing more money for subsidizing social security in retirement then I would grind it out and max out 401k opportunities. That is a large hit on income and not sure why you would need to start at the bottom when you have such an extensive mfg background, seems as if you bring a lot to the table. All that being said go with your gut but be realistic with calculations / expectations. Good Luck

  5. Have always had a couple quads in the stable, still have a 08 ltr450r and a 09 yfz450r both bought brand new. Those morning rides after a stiff breeze with the (adult) kids are the most memorable moments of every trip bar none. Grats on the new steed!

edit to add: Please leave that reflector on no matter how much shi# you get for it! :classic_biggrin:

  6. When we lived in Redlands, Ca they offered "eAcademy" through Redlands Unified SD. I think kids who chose it still went in 1 day a week for a few hours. I know a couple kids that finished High School there 6-7 years ago and they seemed to like it. Don't know if other districts offer it.

    Healthcare chiming in...

Seeing a progressive decrease in insured folks exercising their insurance benefits (i.e. they're not getting preventative care services).  The un-insured volume has been steady but they DGAF.

Been with Kaiser for 20 years, just reached 2K a month for a mediocre (silver) plan, used to be great but since Obamacare services have been on decline while cost has been rising, doctors are overwhelmed. Switching providers Jan 1 as we left their service area, looking forward to a new start.

retirement used to be the time to slow things down, and live a simple / low expense life.  Enjoy your garden... maybe take a cruise once in a while.

I guess if I do it that way, retirement is a possibility.... but to my own demise, I think about one or two 1K+ HP Buggies, stacker, tag axle etc ..... money to fuel, and maintain all that.......not to mention all the other projects, activities and trips when we're not at the dunes. needless to say I will not be retiring any time soon.

That lifestyle will take high 7 / low 8 figures IMO (-=

Any of you guys buy homes simply to offset hyperinflation? Im considering buying to entice the kids up and to hedge against inflation. Don't really want to rent it out but over time homes tend to creep up $. I am SUPER conservative, almost to a fault, I feel dumb after this last month or so but a little smarter when the market dips (-=

Appreciate your input. I like the Renegades too. It has a lot of qualities / positives. The aluminum stacker trailer I wasn't looking for but, for the package deal, might be the way to go. We're going to look at it today. 2:30 TX Time. Peace

Make sure the stacker works for a can-am / Funco combo

I own a decent sized personal and commercial insurance agency and unfortunately I do deal with these problems on a regular basis with my clients. Ask your agent for help. Take the time to read your entire insurance policy, many policies have like kind, and condition verbiage. If you have an insurance adjuster that is difficult to work with, there are third-party professional adjusters you can hire that will be paid a percentage of the claim. I would advise you not to hire an attorney for property damage claim. My experience if you show the adjuster comparables with documentation of comparable value it can go along ways. Don’t use used units from FB, but used ones from a dealer that would include used retail price plus taxes.

If you need to as a last resort, you can drop the mention that your insurance adjuster is acting in bad faith. That will scare them much more than the threat of getting an attorney and if they can’t make you whole within the policy verbiage, you can make a complaint to the insurance department for bad faith.

Good luck my friend, that’s a horrible situation.

This is great advice, I'd simply find a few comparable stock machines get the value and then find out what my policy covers in aftermarket add ons. You will obviously max that portion out as your machines are set up. I find using industry terminology as recommended above will get attention quicker than anything else. My son had a medical insurance coverage issue, wasn't getting much accomplished till someone in the field recommended I mention an "ombudsman" it was resolved immediately after that.

Yes, and while I would normally agree with that approach, with the exception that he is currently working fulltime for a local fire dept as an EMT. Only way for him to move up now is to get this schooling. Once he completes the schooling it is an immediate $5 raise. So with that raise he will be able to pay back the loan within a year. If it was going to be something where it was going to take him 5 years or so to pay back the loan then I would be pushing for him to save up and go later.

Did they refer him to this school? Sounds odd, if they like him Id think they would pay or at least have him sign an agreement to stay on for a year then he'd get the raise.
