  1. WE WENT TO THE DUNES IN EARLY OCT AND A OVERLY EXCITED BLM TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED A FIRE PERMIT. I THOUGHT HE WAS JUST JOKING WITH US AND THEN EXPLAINED ALL THE RULES THAT GOES WITH IT. I JUST READ YOU NEED ONE BUT DOESN'T SAY FOR THE DUNES SPECIFIC. I THINK IT STUPID AS ALL HELL. SO, DO WE NEED ONE OR NOT?

    Hole In Turbo Hose

No I do not.. Its a clucking noise and it seems to be in the center of the motor.
  3. Just had my turbo freshened up on my Subaru 2.5. It has stock waste gate. A hose runs from waste gate to turbo. The hose got to close to housing/exhaust and burnt a hole in it while driving. I noticed the boost gauge go around 16 psi don't know if it was higher. My boost is set at 12 psi. It felt like the cars power it a wall/dropped off. I thought it was bad gas so I shifted to third and hit throttle. The car started popping and pulled into camp. Now my oil pressure is around 12 psi and my vacuum gauge/boost gauge shows 25 psi at idle. I give the car some gas and the oil pressure goes up to 75 psi and the vacuum moves up to the boost side. Also, as I go up in idle a wicked knocking comes from my engine. I did notice oil coming out of my dipstick. Question is could the hole in the hose cause the engine to over boost blowing my lower end?? Or did my lower end just happened to go at that time?? Would this also blow seals in the turbo effecting the vacuum?? My oil gauge is never lower than 40 at idle and warm and vacuum is always at 20 psi.. I'm in Az and want to save money and do the fix myself. I will call outfront later in the week.. Any guesses/knowledge from the board members.
  4. I also changed my funco to e85 4 yrs ago. I didn't change any of my fuel system. I'm lazy in summer time taking out the e85 so I just add the e85 lucas additive to the fuel tank. I have had ZERO problems but I use alot more fuel.
  5. Its the way government works. Get somone low in the blm to make a plan to impress the upper mangement people that have no clue..They pat that person on the back and say your right we need this, talk with other low mangement people that want to move up and say yes sir thats what happens in the dunes. We need more of everything. Then it goes further up with the chain who are more out of touch and they just read whats going on in the dunes by the first person that inflated all numbers.. and bam its 250.00 dollars a year. The said thing is most of us will pay the increase. We all know at least in the south dunes its been really slow in the last three years. Every holiday has not been like it was but we still have alot of law enforcement and trash collection. And again its never going to change..

    E 85 Coversion

Its a head scratcher.. There are no seals in them. Compression fittings metal to metal. The guys over at fodrill believe it could be from over tightening. but they cant explain why it last all season and then leaked after the summer.. Any other ideas..

    E 85 Coversion

Heres some pictures its between the nut and the metal line. You would think you need to tighten it more but you cant. Could it be that the fuel pump somehowbe building to much pressure and it releasing from the fittings? fantasy? I just craweled under rail and the other fittings not leaking. That is the 90 comin out of fuel pump and the 45 comin out of the ful filter.. Heading down to fodrills first then to lopers or parker.. Thanks for the help.

    E 85 Coversion

I also posted this in the funco section. I went to start the rail up after prep for the season. I hve a subi motor that is converted to e85 last year. I have three an fittings that are leaking. They are the ones that go in and out of the fuel rails the three have bends in them. It appears that the nuts need to be tightened more but they cant. Im sure that the rubber bushing in them have warn out/got eaten. My question is if anyone has had the problem with the an fittings failing do to the e85? My lines are all good and so are the other connections even in the T connections.. It only happened in the ones with bends in them. Going to lopers in phx to get new ones. Anyone else have this problem? Going to call funco and gary on monday. thanks
  12. I have a 2005 funco. converted it to run on e85 last year. I was getting it ready for the season and my an fittings that go into the fuel rails and out are leaking. Its only on the three an fittings that have bends in them. It is not happenning at the T's or straight fittings. My question is if it happened to anyone else when they did the conversion or did they replace all lines during the conversion. Did they replace anything else such as fuel pump and fuel filters? Gary nevr mentioned to replace lines or the an fittings. Going to lopers inphx to get new an fittings..Its the weekened and cant get ahold of Gary or funco.. Any help? Thank you.
  13. I'm getting ready for the season. What is the best way to bring back the shine to the powdercoating?
  14. Its alot cheaper in Az and it depends what mvd you go to. I have done three rails, 30.oo each. I did the funco showed misc bills, seat, lights, wire, engine and trans. Its a certain percent of what you tell them its worth.
  15. I had my done at the start of the season. Seems to be no difference in power. It is very hard starting when its cold, scared I might burn out my starter. I have noticed 10- 15 percent more on gas. This also depends how hard you run it. Can't beat the savings over race gas. Overall seems to work and I would do it again. I have maybe 30 duning days on it.
