  1. Sand Sport Super Show this weekend. No mention of it here? Is it like Fight Club? First rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club? Anyone going to check it out?

Disregard, found the thread on it. Sorry :(

  2. Sadly, nowadays, most people that are purchasing a SXS or car would have no idea what any of that information meant. Manufacturers are marketing to a whole different kind of person than you or me. That's why they just fill brochures with fancy pictures and less words.

  3. I have Rugged Radios and have had them in a couple cars. I have been happy with them. Over about seven or eight years of having Rugged Radios I have needed tech help twice. Both times I called them, I was basically left high and dry and they couldn't do anything to help me. The second time I need tech help I was in Glamis and called them, sorry nothing they can do to help. Later that trip was at vendors row and saw PCI so I decided to ask them for help. They were glad to help and got me working again. PCI definitely has the customer service edge. Other than those two incidents, I have been satisfied with my Rugged Radio setup but will probably go PCI the next time around.

  4. I know it is only Thursday but when is someone going to post pictures of Glamis and Camp Razor? I have heard it is already busy out there. Would love to see some pictures of the circus when it starts. I mean pictures of the event when it starts.

  5. Any rumor if they will be open this season or not? I think I remember them having a Facebook page but I don't do the Social Media thing so I figured I would ask here. And before anyone gets going about the price of food, beer or wait time there, I don't care, the kids love the easy ride and have fun hanging there for a while so it's worth it. :classic_biggrin:

  6. Back in the day, probably around 1992-93ish, camped at Gecko, outside of the loop closest to the dunes. Friends of some people in the group show up as the sun is going down with a sandrail. This was back when the Volkswagen front end, transmission and rear torsion was standard. Anyway, everyone finishes dinner as the two guys that just arrived unload the sandrail. They were anxious to hit the dunes so they fire it up and haul ass outta camp, pedal to the metal towards the first dune and hit that thing straight on at damn close to full speed! To this day I can still recall the sound of the volkwagen engine over revving as they caught air going over the top and it going silent as they disappeared into the dark. I swear every camp along the loop went racing over the hill to see what happened. At the bottom of the other side the sandrail was just a pile of mangled metal tubing. Anyway, both driver and passenger had to be cut out of the mess and last I heard, which was probably 10 years ago, one still has extreme difficulty walking because his spine was crushed in the accident, the other who was the driver is paralyzed from the accident. Have pictures somewhere of the wreck but bummer story for sure.

It's true.  I had a flatbed registered in my business name that was sold to a guy who never put it in his name and I recieved a $4 toll violation in the mail from Orange County.  I called and explained I didn't own the trailer and they didn't care.  She suggested I just send in the $4 to clear it up.  I refused on principal.  Got a second notice a few months later for $4 toll and $400 penalty.  Called and got someone helpful on the phone that was able to tell me the license plate of the tow vehicle, which was not registered to me.  She was able to excuse the whole thing.  I got nother toll violation in the mail a few months later.  This time I just paid the $4 to make it go away.  Eventually I'll run into the buyer of this trailer and we'll have a chat.

This is why it is important to fill out the Release of Liability and send it to the DMV or AAA when you sell a vehicle/trailer. It prevents this problem.

Watch history 101 on netflix about China, pretty scarry, China will soon be the new super power, there grows soon will out pass the US, the prediction is 2025,  I feel nothing is made in America, we need $22 per hour production plants,

Nothing is made in America because it is cheaper to make it over seas. More tariffs, higher taxes and a HUGE reduction in the red tape and bullshit it takes to own and operate a business in this country would be a good start to addressing this problem. Work ethic of todays work force, well that is a whole other discussion.

  9. Does anyone use dry ice anymore? Growing up, we would put a couple pieces at the bottom of the ice chest then a layer of ice cubes. Lasted all weekend at the river or the desert. And the ice chests 35 years ago were nothing like the are now. If I remember correctly, I was not very expensive either.
