If You Could Find The Truth About Something

I'd like to have been at one of Christs sermons, just to feel what the others must have felt. Or have witnessed his resurrection.... Just to know for sure if its all true.

    Border Fence

Obviously you have never met a Mexican before..... There be some great jumping bean boys out there

    Border Fence

Whats the chances that this thing will hold up over time? Sand, rust, or torch wielding Mexicans will all have their effect. If I was a Mexican with a truck and a torch I would be cutting those spars off on their side of the border and selling them fro scrap metal. The cost to build this thing is nutz but the cost to maintain it will be even nuttier. The weird thing is that I got this 'Berlin Wall' vibe standing next to it and it was like I was on the East Germany side. Like I was being walled in to my own country. I don't know, maybe I just don't like walls but it gave me a hinky feeling.

    Border Fence

So we took our first trip of the season this weekend and camped at Buttercup. A buddy of mine wanted to know what the fence was looking like so I made a trip down to the border and took a look around. We got approached by a security guard who tried to shoo us away from the road and then stood and talked to me for about 30 minutes. It was an enlightening conversation. From what he told me the fence is (contracted out to the lowest bidder?) costing we the taxpayer $1m per quarter mile. Or about 4 million per mile. Yikes! It seems to have some major design flaws because large stretches have fallen over domino style. I personally rode down one stretch that had tipped over that seemed to go on for a mile or two. They bracketed the top and bottom and connected them with bolts instead of welds so they just sort of all tip over together once they started. What a mess. And what an eyesore! And what a lot of wasted sand.

    Chevy Diesel Or No Diesel

<<<< '02 Chevy Dmax LT crew cab 4x4 Silverado. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. Its been the most reliable, comfortable, powerful, and all around good peformer I've ever owned. Put quality tires on it (very important in my book), and anything you do to it in the way of a lift will effect the suspension and ride. So choose what you do to it wisely. A friend of mine, whose daddy has tons of dough and can afford to do anything he wants to his trucks, paid a boatload of money on a lift package +++. He rode with me one time and liked the ride of my truck better. What'd you do to it? he asks. Nothing, just good set of shocks from auto zone when the stock ones wore out. BTW - found my truck on e-bay 4 years ago. I had to fly over to Texas to get it but it was worth the trip, and I saved a ton of $$ over a new one.

    Smokin' Diesel

I almost always keep it at the gas saver level (1). I bump it once in a while to the tow setting if I'm pulling (2). Every now and then I'll put it in 'drive' if I feel like a little gofast or some flatbillers is trying to cut me at a light and I need to blow his doors off (3). But I rarely or never put it on race (4) or extreme (5). Maybe I need to go blow in out once in a while.....

    Smokin' Diesel

I've got an '02 Chevy Duramax LT thats got 147K on it. I plan to keep it until its got 300K on it and then let it go. Its been the best, most reliable vehical that I've ever owned, had scads of power and is as comfortable as my lazyboy. I put an Edge chip in it at 85K along with a 4" pipe and a K/N filter. Alway serviced like clockwork using only synthetic premium blue oil and rotating filters. The problem is that lately it been starting to blow smoke. No noticeable decrease in power or mileage, it just smokes. Kind of a greyish/blue. Sometimes its a lot, sometimes a little. The fuel filter was recently changes with no improvement. Could this be an injector problem? Something else maybe?

    Project Log,.....

Its more than a few people who want to see if this thing is gonna be a winner or not. Following this thread has been an interesting example of how innovators aren't always good manufacturers. I have more than one friend who are inventors but haven't got a clue on how to turn their inventions into finished product. I hope you get it done Yoshi. I'm still following this with deep interest.

    Project Log,.....

Lol, the windshield bar is to keep quads outta the driver compartment, the v brace in the roof is to keep the front edge of the windshield from pushing back IF a quad hits the windshield brace in the middle, the floor brace to the lower windshield brace is just to tie it all together and add a little more support. [attachmentid=130082] WTF!! If thats your concern then why not just put a snow plow on the front as a bumper....
