  5. Saw the water truck on wash road dumping his tank (marked not potable water) all the way to wash 12 over the weekend. Maybe it is allowed for dust control?
  6. Use 5-20 oil In the flywheel end valley of the Honda J series they have a 1/4" drain hole. This will drain sand and water right above the rear main seal, I recommend a dab of silicone over the hole to keep sand and water out of your bell housing. I have also seen a foam gasket formed in a circle around the seal to seal against the adaptor plate.
  7. Good times----Thanks Funco Family
  8. The first Funco was just "Big5" Being the first, it only became Gen 1 after Gen 2 was produced and sold.. Grant or Gil will be able to explain the differences in the two.. I think the "first" Funco was the Wampuskitty 20+ years before the first Big 5
  9. Maybe a question for SEAN@WEDDLE Does the HV 5 speed require a special shifter? Is reverse below 5th gear or full left and back like a VW?
  10. The application is Funco Gen 4, made by Funco so the steering shaft does not have high angle u-joints and the related problems with that. If you take it apart yourself check the spool housing as those can get worn and allow the input shaft some side to side movement.
  11. One other consideration is that both the Charlyn and EPS put all the steering torque and feedback torque thru the lower u-joint, rack and pinion gears and thrust plate. With a hydraulic rack and pinion the cylinder protects these items from heavy loads and crash damage. If the car is going to see a lot of use and abuse the hydraulic rack and pinion will have much longer life.
  12. You need a code reader that displays real time data, they are inexpensive. If the vehicle speed shows zero engine rpm is limited to 3000 rpm. Most sand car setups don't use the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) The common modification to the harness is to piggyback the crank position pulse onto the vss wire. You should be showing vehicle speed whenever the engine is running with this modification.
  13. You might need a smaller trailer
  14. Lowest cost option is to change out to a organic (stock) disc the chatter will go away, but you will still have the stiff clutch peddle. You have to much pressure plate with a 6 puck on a stock Honda. Stage one with a 6 puck is much nicer to shift with the softer peddle and easier engagement.
