How would you handle this situation?

I live in the kind of an isolated area of the HD. There are not many trees where I live - but we have a pool. My home has become invaded by seasonal birds that have been nesting under these tiles for the last 10 years.

The problem is that they crap on and around my pool from April to about July as they nest under these tiles. Also because we have a bubble cover they like to hop around on top of it and drink water and crap. Then the evening winds pick up and hundreds of little demon bird turds blow to the edge of the cover and fall into my pool. So then next time i yank the cover I have to dive in with a vacuum hose hooked up and vacuum out literally thousands of demo bird turds! Not only is this a huge bummer, the deck gets covered in these turds! And then around our house we get tons of eggs falling out of the roof everywhere, and dead babies as well.

One year I went on vacation and left a few bowls of diluted Ethelene Glycol around the property (totally fenced no chance of other pets or animals t drink it) where they also drink from and when I came home 14 days later they were all gone. But a short two years later they wee back. I am now convinced that I need to some how remove the option to nest under those tiles. It's only the peak tiles. I need to wrap them in wire, or fill the voids with something?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The solution to your problem is in your post.. feel kinda bad for anything that eats them after they die though.

Are you sure they're not coming in through the soffit area where the tile is wavy? It appears your ridge tiles are already sealed around the base where they meet the other tiles??
 
I have had an issue with swallows nesting in the nook where I have a dormer that meets the main roof, and the birds were crapping all over my place and a ton of grass from the nests (looked like a hay truck drove by my place every day)
I researched how to permanently get rid of the nest and opted for a physical barrier using plastic chicken wire to close off the spaces the birds were using. One thing I read is birds do not like mint smell and won't nest if the smell of mint is present. You might want to try mint oil around the area's they are nesting and see if that keeps the birds away?

My Dad has Spanish tile roof and had same issue, was a PITA to cover all the little spaces with chicken wire so it blocks them but is not really viewable but it worked. They try then leave shortly after learning there is no more access.

Hmm, spraying Mint oil on those spots might be a good additional/easy option as well.

I use this around my motor home to keep the rats & mice out. It is a mint smell. I would give it a try.
