The west side of this fire (the side going towards Running Springs and me) got a good help with the rain. It really helped the fire to lay down. Now the east side is going bad and is heading towards Hwy 38 and those communities.

Update

Terrible. I lost my home up there in the Slide Fire in '07. I wish it would rain more than it has.

They have started mandatory evacuations in my old hometown of Running Springs. Say a prayer for all that have to leave. They will probably have their home insurance cancelled before it hits. Here is a view from my house.

My insurance from State Farm doubled this year. From $2000 a year to $4000. I priced around and it was more through the Fair plan, Bamboo plan, etc. I am in a fire area, but my home is almost fireproof with no wood on the outside of the house. Already had a fire rip through at 2am on a hot...
