    High spirited Dual sport bikes

I was doing a few hundred miles a week back then. This was before i had kids. No matter which bike i was riding it was Going to need regular valve adjustment. The honda 450 was the best power/top speed production 450 in that era. You could say the same for the modern fuel injected bikes that...

    High spirited Dual sport bikes

The valves last surprisingly long if you adjust them regularly. I’d usually wear out a head same time as valves. At which time i’d redo the head with stainless valves. I’ve gotten multiple 10s of thousands of miles from crf450s over the years

I had a plated 2001 for a few years. It was a handful in fire roads. They are great tanks straight line but a handful in technical terrain. Engine Parts are very hard to get since honda stopped supporting them

Trying to decide on my sons next quad

….to clarify i think the raptor 90/polaris outlaw 90 are same bike except fenders. The polaris 110 seems like a upscaled 90. Its fuel injected and maxes out around 25mph. Its hard to get front tires off the ground on purpose let alone on accident. I have no experience with yamaha 110

Trying to decide on my sons next quad

Not sure; i think all 90s carb, 110 outlaws fuel injected new yamaha 110 fuel injected. Our polaris is 2018 and fuel injected. We’ve had it 5 years no running issues Raptor 125 is also an option; it does have a clutch

I ended up getting a 87 trx250r to finish out the season. My 12 year old daughter is already claiming it as her next bike (shes on an 87 trx250x now, but next season i’ll probably sell the 250r and get a wr450. I think my mind is pretty set on that. I want to do more single track with my son on...

Any heat treat experts here ?

Heat it a dull red and just submerge in old used motor oil until cool. It really depends on what base materials are and what filler was used. Something like that preheating before welding and then using a ni-55 nickel welding rod would probably be best. I dont post treat typically unless its a...
