Glamis Veterans Interview with Brian Crain!

Good question! As much as I'd like to hold the event on the actual date it doesn't work out very often so we've officially settled on the Saturday closest to Veterans Day as the event date each year. 🤘

    13.5 Back In The Day?

All through the 2000s, until the Compound started ~07 or 08. Some massive TGs out there with 200+ people... 10+ tables end to end covered in the biggest potluck you've ever seen. People from Louisiana, Missouri, TX, Michigan, everywhere. My boys were well into elementary school before they ever...

There are plenty of events that fly under their radar and it's not impossible. Once you are on their radar though... EPOs got on their radar.

Something like that you should be fine unless merch is being advertised/sold, etc... any sales automatically lump you into the permit process. There's a handful of things that automatically require it and a lot of things that skirt the edge.

    Glamisdunes.com New Ownership Party

Any organized activity out there is supposed to have an SRP, certificate of insurance, etc etc... running the Veterans Day ceremony is the same process as running the Redbull Scramble... my event insurance is a helluva lot cheaper I'm sure, but yea, from the Camp Genesis, MLK Cleanup, Vets...

    Glamisdunes.com New Ownership Party

Wasn't ready to get the cat outta the bag yet but the Golf Tourney is already in the works for the last weekend in February. I talked to @Chummin about a month ago when we were ready to put wheels in motion and got his blessing. Already pulling the SRP with BLM and all that. Count on 2/22/25...

It's Saturday Oct 26th 2024.. What is everyone doing this weekend?

Got the land yacht dropped off at AVI wraps, ran errands, today it's washing the 5th wheel and packing/loading it for the season, turnaround trip with the 5th wheel to get it in storage tomorrow, then prep for the Rzr and Vets trip, picking up the MavR from wrap shop and headed out Weds/Thurs...

30 Day Public Comment Period: BLM FEES

A fee increase is one thing ...which I'm opposed to. The new process to bypass traditional fee increases such as this one and simply spend and raise and spend and raise every three years is absolutely outrageous and unacceptable.

30 Day Public Comment Period: BLM FEES

Public comments must be submitted by Nov. 25 2024, via mail to the BLM El Centro Field Office, 1661 S. 4th Street, El Centro, CA 92243 or via email at BLM_CA_web_EC@blm.gov. ~3mil revenue collected each year, ~1mil contract to collect fees. Snail mail or email them before Nov25th. If this...

    13.5 Back In The Day?

Exactly. They are numbered on the train trellis with the low numbers starting at the Beach Store/Hwy 78 and getting larger heading south.

30 Day Public Comment Period: BLM FEES

Here ya go, it will take some effort, in the form of written and snail mailed comments, but they are looking to increase fees again. The proposed recreation permit fees would be $55 for off-site weekly permits, $70 for on-site weekly permits, and $185 for season permits, effective Oct. 1, 2025...

    Non Helmet Guys

I was going to pull the trigger on those 100%, the overall boys wear those on their dirt bikes and love them. Couldn't find them and found the Havoc's first. Bonus, they have a model with cutout foam that fits some glasses underneath for old people that can't see shit without corrected vision...

    Non Helmet Guys

X3 for Havoc when following. I have 20+ pairs of goggles that are fine when I'm leading but all of them suck when following besides the Havoc. One of the few to use a denser foam and not let the sand sift through.

RJ Anderson runs the Sand Slayer, ya'll saw it at the SSSS right????

I have a set of 32" 14 paddle on order for the MavR ... just need to decide before they are ready if I want to change that to the 35". Talked to Clay and they'll only have the 32" mounted up for the MavR for the demos.... anyone ran their 35" on a MavR?

BRP Go & Integrated comms to VHF?

$190 for a PTT seems excessive. Looks like it only borrows the button functionality from BRPs system, doesn't leverage anything else.
